Hi "Kumusta", my Noisey friends, Thanks, @ElyzzBerttErynn, my breakfast this morning has been possible! Tadaaa...! Here's a fried 'tuyo' (salted dried Herring fish) paired with fried rice and red tomatoes with minced onions on the side. And of course, my coffeelicious dark roasted Barako ☕. It was such a hearty, tasty meal, especially during the gloomy weather that we have now. They say 'tuyo' is a "poor man's food" because it's cheap and salty. I just bought this at the 'Talipapa' or small wet market for 10 Philippine pesos or $0.20 per pack of 5 pieces of 'tuyo'. However, over the years, it has become a gourmet delicacy. The dried fish is soaked in olive oil and spices then placed inside bottles. Well to me, 'tuyo' is a "happy food", why? Because it's eaten on a rainy day wherein people are just too lazy to do anything. After eating this, you tend to be in good spirits.😊 And how about the health benefits? 'Tuyo' has low-fat content and is rich in protein and minerals. They say, however, that the preservatives used for drying are hazardous to human health, but it depends, small amounts of it can be tolerated. And 'tuyo' isn't a staple food to be consumed every day, only eaten occasionally. As for the salt content, as they say, 'excess of everything is bad, the same goes for the consumption of salt. It is harmful when consumed more than the prescribed daily dosage. Well, at least your craving is satisfied. So eat 'tuyo' and no regrets, you'll be happy all day! 😄 @Mitochondria 💯Original Content| Mobile📸🇵🇭 Adding this also to #foodlove @JenYam and #ContentoftheDay @Illy85
