@MissPeppermint more from that month

I remember sitting at our front yard together with my two older sisters on a beautiful afternoon. We were looking up the sky and let our imagination take us to a different world. A sea up in the sky, a boat, an elephant and a lot of things that the clouds form before our eyes. The sun was setting and we were used to just sit there every afternoon waiting for our Tatay. It was almost dark. A tall figure wearing a blue top and black jeans was walking on the road. Our hearts skipped. We froze. We just looked at the figure until I said. “Ara na si Tatay!” (Father is here!). My two older sister didn’t move, but were just watching the man walking as he gets near. I was standing and smiling. I was seven years old and the idea of what death is, was never instilled in my young mind. I was about to ran towards the man, my smile faded away…it wasn’t our Tatay. Tatay will never be home, ever again. So every time I see this kind of clouds, I remember Tatay. Our kind and loving father. Today was special, I think Tatay is telling me that better things are yet to come. I’ve been having a lot of negative thoughts lately. I often spend the afternoons doing nothing, well, I blame the weather. Yes, better things are yet to happen. I’ll hope for the best and continue to work harder. Goodnight!
