A greatest gift for an Artist I've reached my muse! Imagine you're an artist and you get so so hyped on a show that it becomes your comfort show, you fell in love with two characters, those two are your favorites, you feel the urge to draw 'em, something simple, just for you, just for fun, suddenly people also began to enjoy your fanarts and it grows so so deep that one day that artwork of yours reach to those two very characters you love so much... that just happened to me! and I cannot describe enough how it felt... it's an emotion full of euphoria. Let me tell you that story on this very first storytime. Vikings was a show I started to watch back at 2017, like I've said on my previous articles, I struggle with mental health, I rely on shows and games to keep me out of my head sometimes. Anyway, I love historical shows and Norse Mythology is my favorite of all time, so decided to give it a try, didn't have anything better to watch at the time. I loved it at first episode, legit devoured that first season, luckily there were 4 season already when I got hyped with it. Inktober of that year came and I was planning to participate with a witchy prompt, my freelancing was beginning, I wasn't earning that much, my social media presence was small and I haven't too much interaction or a fanbase, I was stressed, sad, the depressive episode was kicking in, on inktober day 17 I was about to throw the towel when I decided to draw something simple, a chibi of the sons of Ragnar I've liked that much, I was just finished the season 4 and was waiting for season 5, well did that simple sketch (see below) Those were the first chibis(Chibi means small in japanese so they are like cutesy child baby versions of the characters), they were pretty rough sketch looking but post it anyways on all my social media platforms. To my surprise they were well receive, so many people began to follow me and comment, they laugh a lot to my silly and adorable chibi parody of vikings, I let show my sense of humor on those drawings, I mean if you see the show you'll notice it is a bit gruesome, death, blood, fights xD and then I parody all that with a silly cute looking, maybe that's why people liked it who know. I fixated on the Ragnarsons but there were two characters who caught my whole attention over the following years ****Ivar the boneless:**** ****and Hvitserk:**** Created a bunch of comic strips of those two They were fun to draw, I really enjoyed, but dunno why I have this though that my art should be more complex, epic, don't get me wrong I love both styles but the chibi comes so natural, I really should just embrace that this is who I am as an artist lol a bit of both. years passed and I even stop to draw 'em, I occasionally come back to them to rest between client work who takes most of my time since is my main source of income. The Vikings fans are supporting to me, specially one fan who collects almost every sticker or mug design I post on my Redbubble Shop, well that same fan had the idea of making Ivar( Alex Høgh Andersen ) and Hvitserk ( **Marco Ilsø** ) actors a gift, they were going to be at Wales Comic Con 2022. https://www.instagram.com/alexhoeghandersen/?hl=en https://www.instagram.com/marcoilsoe/?hl=en And so she did!!!! She recorded a video for Ivar... I still can't believe it... I mean, his awesome performance inspired me, I loved his character... those chibis were for pure fun, I've never imagined something like this could happen... to reach your muse, can't describe the feeling... now those two has a mug and stickers of their characters on chibi version... and I drew those... T^T OMG these are tears of joy!!!! this is... a gift... that lovely angel gift me this... can't thank her enough, this came just when I needed the most, I was feeling pretty low... but like really low and this... ahhh, I'm sorry I don't know what else to say than I'm hella grateful to her and that seeing him holding that mug makes me feel all warm and fuzzy and even more :'D There's a link down below if you want to check the video, I'm also gonna leave a link to my Redbubble store. **IG Video** https://www.instagram.com/tv/Cb5brVXFJ3v/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link **Redbubble** https://www.redbubble.com/people/milbethmorillo/shop

Digital art "Tied Up" The series of Art Therapy Doodles continues... Dunno really how real art therapy works, never had a session before, not with a professional guidance, all am doing is sketching from the core, without planning, without thinking, without expectations of perfection or "this has to be a sellable product", just draw whatever comes to mind. Some say "make a job of something you love and you'll never work again" and I get it, it feels rewarding oh yeah it does, but it's still a job, you're gonna have stress, pressure, specially if you're your own boss and to be overworked is something you're gonna be fighting against. It depends of the type of artist or creative you are, in my case my main source of income are commissions, so I draw illustrations for other people, I'm always doing client work, I have to, to pay the bills, so for a huge chunk of time I've only been drawing for someone else and feeling guilty for creating drawings for myself when it's supposed to be my free time, I feel guilty if I'm not working on my client work, forgot that I used to draw for myself as a way of copying, as a way to relieve all those feelings trapped deep deep inside. Drew this when I was feeling really bad, when words were stuck in my throat, it felt like the sadness and apathy were swallowing me, I felt the need to draw I haven't felt in such a long time, it was like and urge. Didn't look out for reference or anything like that it was like back in those days when I used to draw just to draw, without any expectation. Doodling can easy your mind, try to just doodle when your anxiety kicks in, try to doodle when you're feeling numb or sad, when you want to cry but just seems like cannot. It doesn't have to be pretty, or happy or good. Medium: Clip Studio paint and Xppen screen tablet.

Art and Mental health We all know the common believe of the "Tormented artist", "to art is to suffer" "no drama no art" but why is that?, why most artists suffer from a mental health condition? is there any relation between a creative mind and a mental illness? This has been a curiosity of mine since I started to learn History of art and famous painters back in Uni, I myself have been struggling with mental illness from a long time and yet I can create art that amazes me sometimes, my main source of income are commissions, so I try my best to bring the client's idea to life, I guess the empathy and this creative mind of mine help a lot to understand an execute another's person ideas, but is it the same sensibility a double edge sword? It's incredible the amount of artists who struggle with mental health, not only the famous stars like actors or musician but also Illustrators, plastic artists/painters like me, I have seen comic artists, concept artists, even graphic designers struggling so bad and I wonder, is it something related to our emotional and creative core?. Lately I've been like, ohh now I know why Vincent van Gogh ate yellow paint, now I know why people decide to end it rashly. Our marvelous brain, our double edge sword, why it has to be like this? why to be this creative also means to be this easily broken?, perfectionism, procrastination, self doubt, imposter syndrome, I know those too well, and others colleagues working on the field too, it feels kinda comforting to talk with fellows artists about the struggles we all face and like I said it amaze me how common a mental illness is on this field. I guess the creative brain is fragile but strong at the same time... like a lotus flower even who grows and strives in the most disgusting mud, we also can create amazing and gorgeous pieces at our most lowest point. Speaking of which I'm creating a series or "doodles" when I'm feeling REALLY bad, lately it's been difficult to even get out of bed, but gotta pay the bills... I'll be able to do some client work soon, hopefully, in the meantime, these comfort art pieces help me to ease my mind, it's not pretty, it is darker than what I normally produce, didn't even thought of sharing it at the time but I hope these doodles might help another person to cope, to feel seen, to feel understood, it's lonely when you're this low. I drew this on my birthday a couple of days ago. I've been feeling really depressed on my birthdays since I was on my mid 20's, I'm on my early 30's now, and it's only getting worse, mostly 'cause of my expectations, of what society says I should have by now, on what successful means for others, of me trying to please everyone, those silly things make my anxiety grows, maybe that's what the butterflies mean, or maybe what I wanted to say is that there's still a hint of life and beauty in this dead body of mine, 'cause to tell the truth, when I'm having an episode I feel dead inside, like hollow, I know most of people struggling with the same illness feels this way. Anyhow, dunno what my mind tried to express with this drawing, I leave it up to you to give it the meaning you want and if you want leave a comment, would love to hear your opinion on this matter. The medium I use for the art was digital: Clip studio paint and a XP Pen Artist 12 screen tablet.

Valentine's Day art Cloud and Tifa Hey! wasn't sure about sharing this little fanart here but decided to in the end. This is a Valentine's Day card I made for a special someone, the characters on the card are ones of my favs characters and ship couple of Final Fantasy VII. Cloud and Tifa are adorable together!!!. Was pretty short on time so I decided to go "Chibi" style which is more simple and quicker than my semi realism. The colors are also simple, went with flat colors with a little bit of shading and minimal texture, I think it goes better with the chibi style, highlights are a must on my cutesy style. Made with Clipstudio Paint and a little bit of photoshop. #illustration #art #fanart #finalfantasyvii #cloud #tifa #happyvalentinesday

Who am I? Hello there and welcome to my little space, let's call it my little Troll's cave, my home art studio is small and have almost one natural light, so yeah, Troll's cave it is!. My Name is Milbeth Moriilo, and I'm a Venezuelan fantasy Artist and Illustrator. I'm working as a freelancer since 2017, tried many subjects and for a while I was a jack of all trades, however a couple of years ago focus only on custom coloring pages and coloring books for adults. Why coloring pages? Well, since I started to take my art seriously as a career path had this preference for lineart, it was relaxing and fun to make, since it's just black lines the revision process will be even more easy and fast than if we were working a color illustration, that in client work is vital, fast and quality product, and since I waned to work on commissions and with clients this was a very easy choice to take. So having lineart for client work I kept painting for personal projects, I use digital for coloring pages and traditional mixed media for my personal work. This illustration was made with my mixed media: watercolors, gouache, colored pencils, white gel pen, sakura micron pen on handmade coffee stained watercolor paper, 300 gsm Arches hot press. Portraying the norse god of Winter Ullr. Norse mythology is my favorite and I've illustrated several gods. gonna talk more about them on future posts. Ullr, God of Winter and hunting. Handsome and skilled with a bow, son of Sif and stepson of the God of Thunder Thor.
