Old life, wisdom and enjoyment

This text has no pretext. Just my authentic self. ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ’– I am 57 years old and I feel worn out, old; my bones hurt and I have a lot of pain in my body due to bad decisions that I made years ago through excesses: drugs, alcohol, and food that ultimately caused a lot of damage to my body, and now I face the consequences. But you know what? I feel calm and quite satisfied with having made each and every one of the decisions I made in my life, even when they were bad decisions and caused me harm, because I learned a lot, and now I am at a stage where I see life with great wisdom. I see, above all, these groups of young people who live in such an accelerated way, and also those who are not so young, perhaps some contemporaries of my age, who want to think and want to be on par with these young people. I truly understand their need to keep up because it's like trying to understand all the languages and the ways of communicating that they have. They use new words like "LOLCOWS" a word I didn't even know existed, and it turns out it's a term to pejoratively point out a person who is very stupid and who does very stupid things. In my generation, that was called stupid people. Now these new tribes use these names and label things differently; I suppose it's so they have a sense of identity and differentiate themselves from other groups, or that sense of belonging, that they are special. Actually, it's an effort to stand out. All this writing comes because, even though it's been a long time since I wrote around here, a moment arrived when I felt compelled to leave a few lines from my own self, from my authenticity. This is a piece of writing for me and for everyone who wants to share what it means for them to be an old person. For current young people, being 30 years old already means being old. Imagine what they will think of someone who is 57; surely they will say I am a grandfather =D.

For my part, I have to work and interact with many of these young people on Discord because I am the leader of a community that has been running for a year now, guiding and helping people to create content, more than anything offering them my knowledge from all these long years of writing and content creation. This post was born from a conversation I had with @eommaZel a brief conversation about my liking for oatmeal in breakfast and her asking me if liking oatmeal means I am already an old person. And she answered me that she has her taste too and that supposedly, according to that, we are old. I think that age simply brings wisdom when you know how to apply it, and I repeat, despite all the physical discomfort I have, the diseases and conditions I suffer from, I enjoy these moments of wisdom and I enjoy them a lot. When my soul feels moved to make a post like this and share a little of what I think about what it is to be old, which isn't just about a bone hurting or a foot aching, but about enjoying. Enjoying when you drink a glass of oatmeal, when you come here to the computer to write a text, and when with joy and affection you decide to share it here with other people. This is a text without a pretext, and I hope that if you have come this far, you have enjoyed this entertaining conversation with me in the form of reading, until you provoke me again to write once more.
