My grandfather last words
Papa was strong and agile, everyone in the community still wondered how he would keep walking so smart at his age, he is indeed most of the young one’s prayer point. They want an old age like his. He would read without using an eyeglass and his voice is audible though not as the days in the past, but I would say he never got some vibration in his voice yet. I wonder how lucky he was. He is a man with great talent and I would say he is rich and this helped him escape through some hard times that could have broken him down. Papa just celebrated his 95th birthday last month. It indeed called for celebration, he is among the oldest in town, many would come down to his corridors to seek for history about the town as many more would come for elderly advice. He would also create a special time for little children every full moon to tell them stories and folktales. Most times he teaches us how to play games and have fun among ourselves, at the end of every event he would give everyone money to get something for themselves. Everyone loves papa.

He couldn’t get off his bed like he did before and he was asked to be taken to the hospital for care but he refused, we called the doctor home to have some check up on him but they found nothing suspicious to diagnose. He was still active till yesterday, maybe old age started to tell. https://pixabay.com/photos/street-old-man-child-bike-3390317/ It’s been 8 days now papa got no improvement he had not been eating his meal properly again. We have to support him to sit before he could take his meal then we support him back to bed. I thought to myself maybe it’s the end time for papa 👴. After feeding him, he called me back to his bed, sat me beside him and put his hands on mine, and locked his fingers into mine. Like he was stuttering but I could hear every word he was saying, he said; INTERMISSION!! INTERMISSION!!!!!! ***My dear son! What I am going to tell you today, make sure you never forget them in your life and also make sure you put them into your day-to-day practice. I would tell you five things you need to do in life for you to never regret your existence.*** ****1. GOD ALWAYS**** In everything you do in life, always remember to put your God first, there are times when things would come so easy and you would feel you did it all by yourself, never think it’s your doing but the grace of the Lord that is with you, appreciate it and keep praying it lasts longer for you. In times of sorrow, never think someone got into your life affairs and never seek aid from someone over your problems but to seek the solution from your Lord who had brought it upon you. ****2. PUT YOURSELF FIRST**** You would always have to take good care of yourself first, even before family or friends. Because you have your own life to live and so they have theirs. Don’t try creating comfort for others without you finding yourself comfortable, don’t try helping others without helping yourself first, because if your life ends there they would mourn your death and find someone else to replace you. Even your wife and children would move on in life. So you would be no different from the lamp 🪔 that spreads light to the world and forgot to shed light on itself. ****3. BE A MAN OF YOUR WORDS**** One thing humans would always cherish is to be sincere and truthful. It has pushed many to the mountain of success and otherwise has sunk many into the valley of failure and regrets. When you’re sincere with your words people will love you naturally. No doubt you would always emerge the best among the best. ****4. NEVER RUN BY SOMEONE ELSE TIME**** We all have our pace in life, our destiny to be fulfilled, look forward to their success in life but never make their achievements push you beyond your limit making you trespass and possibly lead you astray. Live a life of your own and be proud of yourself always. Your friend made it in life never means you won’t, believe his time had come and so would yours. Endurance and patience should be your watchword, act by them then you would be happy over your existence. ****5. BE GRATEFUL FOR EVERYTHING**** No matter how small or minute the help could be, be it financially, morally, or physically, no matter what, always make sure you appreciate everything they have done for you because a grateful soul receives more. ***My son! I hope you could see sense in the little words I have told you, I might not be able to leave you houses or riches but I leave these five things for you, make sure you keep them safe and make use of them in your life. These are my last words to you as a grandfather, father, and brother to you.*** I pray for you and wish you good luck 👍 in life. Take care of your family and make sure to keep your wife happy 😃 always. Call everyone in, it’s time for me to say goodbye 👋. Tears dripped down my face as I remembered I would see grandpa no more. I couldn’t stand his goodbye. Maybe his last words are enough for me. I turned my face down and I just had put my face on his bed before I could raise my head. Papa was no more. Everyone sobbed as we lost a great gem, a man of virtue, respect, and honor. **This is not my story but completely FICTIONAL.** Today is another new month and I am happy to be a witness. I wish everyone a happy and prosperous month. To my readers, subscribers, upvoters, and sponsors I am so grateful for everything.

What a wonderful advice by your grand pa, even though it is fictional, I loved especially "put yourself first" because I missed doing that in my early life and still suffering today.. your happiness is your priority :) God bless his soul
Hehehe. It’s a fictional write up and character. But Amin to our forefathers. One had to be himself. Then life be more easier. Thanks so much for stopping by
Creative mind you've got! I thought it was real, but the advice you have there are gems indeed! I love all of them!

Pleasure :) Keep going!
I thought it was real and I got emotional while reading your story.. But those words are true and should always be done.. Especially the last one
Hehehe. It’s fictional 😆 I learnt that from you 😊 And yeah to be grateful is so much essential to ones existence. Thanks ma’am.
The 5th aspect be grateful for everything always reminds me of Some people that don't have the privilege we enjoy for free but we that have it still complain
You are right on point Maybe sometime when we see those that have lost theirs then we realize how important it is to us. Thanks fo the contribution
