I sincerely don't know what the fuss is about Dembele. A forward who has played 84 games in four and a half years, scoring a paltry 18 goals in the process is not someone I want to worry myself about. Fine, he is talented and all but Quaresma was way talented yet he never really maximised his potential. I understand Barca's position. They wouldn't want a player they signed for over €100M with add-ons to walk away as a free agent. They need to tie him down to another contract before moving him to the highest bidder so as to recoup some of the money spent to acquire him. What I don't understand is the amount of top teams rumoured to be jostling for his signature. Dembele is just 24 and may still come good but history has proven that some players do blossom early and wither away while some are late bloomers. Players like Anthony Martial and Dembele may just be in the first category.
