With Messi joining PSG, the pressure is definitely on. Ligue 1 should be a walkover for them. Those French cups should follow suit. The Champions League? That is a difficult call. Yes, Messi is phenomenal but he hasn't won the Champions League in 6 years. That competition is a different ball game entirely. It's not for the squad with the best players, it's for those with the best team where everyone works together. Chelsea doesn't have the best players last season, yet they won it. Their coach has all of then moving in the same direction. No ego clashes, no bickering, no selfish plays. Kante never stopped running; Havertz kept on making forward runs with or without the ball, same for Mount. Even the wasteful Werner was still creating chances with his direct pace. The defence worked tirelessly. They were a unit. Man City ousted PSG last season. PSG should've won but Neymar was either too arrogant to give the final pass or too wasteful as he kept on losing the ball. Champions League is for the most disciplined teams, not the most fanciful ones. Man City has dominated England in the last 5 years but they've not won a single Champions League trophy. That shows how crazy it can be. I'll expect PSG to at least make the semis like they've done in the last two seasons. But I won't be surprised if they didn't win it. I have no clear favourite.
