So Lewandowski wants a new challenge at the ripe age of 33. Bayern are definitely not willing to let go by slamming a whooping £100M on him. I believe if Ronaldo can be sold to Juve at the same price and age their is no reason why Lewandowski can't command that sort of fee. Asides Ronaldo and Messi, Lewandowski has been the most consistent player in Europe in the last few years. Also, he takes good care of his body and doesn't rely on speed to play. With this he can easily play till 38. The problem now is most clubs won't stump up that sort of money, not with the current financial issues football is facing. Asides that, the presence of young alternatives like Haaland and Mbappe means he is not a most wanted. I think Lewy will stay at Bayern. By the time his contract runs out in 2023 he'll be 35. No big club will buy him at that age. But if his fee is lowered and Daniel Levy continues to play hardball with Kane it will be a good deal for City to buy Lewy. He can still give two good seasons as a top striker.

a challenge for Lewandowski would be to perform for Poland as he does at Bayern
He need players of relatively high quality in the national team. Despite the dismal display of Poland at the Euros he was still able to get a goal or two. And his goals dragged them to that Euros in the first place.
that is the oft stated arguement. After 2018 he even said that himself which I am sure helped solidify the thinking of his team mates. There is a lack of quality behind him in Poland but half the problem is that he drifts out of position to help out which renders him useless. He is no Ronaldo or Messi more a Lineker type who knows where the goal is and knows where to put the ball. Lineker was a great stirker but not a great player in terms of his general skill levels.
Messi took on more creative role at Barca last season because there was few established creators. It eventually affected his goal output. When an established striker plays with inferior teammates he's automatically saddled with more creative responsibility. His role as the best player in the national team means he wants to do it all.
