After considering so many conspiracy theories following the Barcelona announcement as regards the departure of Messi, I'll definitely be going with the idea that all this is a ploy targeted at humbling Javier Tebas and his La Liga rule. Tebas and the CVC agreement definitely didn't go down well with Barça. And from the statement we could see Barça directly blaming La Liga for a possible Messi departure. The transfer window closes on August 31. Barça still has three weeks of wiggle room. So why giving up this early? Why would they give huge contracts to Depay and Aguero if it will affect Messi's contract. Definitely, both Depay and Aguero combined are not close to being as important to Barça as Messi. I believe this is nothing but power play between Barça and La Liga. Laporta based his campaign on getting Messi to renew his contract. There's no way he's letting go without a fight. Come September 1, I think Messi will still be a Barça player.
