WEST HAM At some point last season, I made sure I watched every West Ham's highlight if I miss their live matches. That was how impressive they were going from a team with little to no reckoning to a team I wanted to know everything about. West Ham were the biggest surprise of last season. Even more surprising was the fact that a David Moyes team was playing such intriguing football away from his bland, horrible style of play. When West Ham splashed the cash to get in players like Felipe Anderson and Yarmolenko I expected fireworks. But it was the team of last season that delivered those in abundance, mesmerizing us all the way. They've done smart businesses recently in the attacking space with Bowen, Benrahma, Lanzini and co. Adding Lingard on loan only pushed them further. And yes, Souçek was just unbelievable in midfield. Coufal and Cresswell were irrepressible too. Having overachieved by securing a commendable sixth position last season, can they retain that position despite not making big moves in the transfer market? Lingard doesn't look likely to join although nothing is impossible. Their is always talks about Rice leaving. Captain Mark Noble is no longer getting younger. With an additional distraction in the form of Europa League will West Ham crumble, retain their swagger or do the unthinkable by moving higher in the ladder this season? Well, the season is just hours away. Enjoy every bit of it.
