Karim Benzema won the Ballon d'Or while Robert Lewandowski won the Gerd Muller award for the best striker. Last time I checked, Benzema is also a striker. How can you be regarded as the best player in the world but not the best in your position? That's some weird stuff. Football's individual awards are highly political and hugely upsetting. At least, they got it right this time with Benzema.
