The VAR is becoming more of a problem than a solution. They've somehow made watching football uninteresting one way or the other. Your team scores and you don't even know if to celebrate or not so as not to be made to look like a fool few seconds later. Yesterday's game at White Hart Lane was definitely a joke. Or the VAR was probably on vacation. Harry Kane nearly broke Robertson's leg yet he got a yellow and VAR chose not to review it even for just 5 seconds. Jota was barged over in the box and all the referee could say was that he was waiting for the foul. The VAR once again chose silence. Conte believed Salah handled in the build up to Robertson's goal; once again VAR did nothing. If the VAR will choose silence at every major decision point then it's pointless having it. We will gladly return to those periods where marginal offside calls decide games where one party feels aggrieved and the other feels lucky. At least those plucky decisions always even out back at the end of the season.
