So, the first big name casualty goes home. I already said Belgium is my favourite top team to exit at the group stage. Argentina escaped yesterday; Germany should also make it out of the group by defeating Costa Rica later today. And, this tournament is going unbelievably well for Africans. After the first game week the five African teams had two draws and three losses, scoring just one goal. Two of them, Senegal and Morocco have qualified. Cameroon has to defeat Brazil to…

What a night of football! What an incredible World Cup!! Belgium and Germany eliminated on the same day in the group stages. These two were favourites to make the quarterfinals.

Congratulations to Olivier Giroud on becoming the French national football team record goalscorer with 52 goals. Though a highly unfancied striker, he's proven himself over and over. #WorldCup

Commenced the migration from noise.cash to noise.app. I have to admit I'm very excited this finally happened because there are a couple of guys I followed on noise.cash that I've not been able to get their invite on noise.app because I've been away for a while. This migration will aid that reunion. I'm super excited.

The Japanese guys are giving their all in this one. They've matched Croatia so far. I hope the ridiculous amount of energy they've expanded will not haunt them as the game gets to the latter part. #WorldCup

For those Ronaldo fanboys who flooded the media to destroy Ten Hag because he wasn't starting Ronaldo, what do you have to say about Fernando Santos now? The earlier people realised Ronaldo is past his prime the better. The game has evolved away from him. If he wants to continue playing he should go to a less glamorous, less pressurized league where his deficiency won't be too glaring.

In the last two days, I've read all manners of articles highlighting how to stop Mbappe than I've seen my entire life. I just couldn't stop laughing. It simply reminds me of those tactical analysis on Squawka highlighting how to stop a prime Messi. In the end, it always ended as a total waste of time. Now, I do believe England has more than enough quality to hurt France. However, focusing more on Mbappe while forgetting the threat of Griezmann and Dembele is a high way to…

Having a midfielder who is totally calm on the ball is priceless. Luka Modric's ball handling skill has somehow made Brazil look ordinary so far. He pops up in spaces to help his teammates out thereby avoiding turnovers the speedy Brazilian forwards may exploit. Goalless at halftime; a brilliant tactical battle so far. #WorldCup #CroatiaVsBrazil

The extra time kings are there once again. Croatia has made an habit of grinding games down to extra time where their midfielders now fully take control. Brazil are in uncharted territory here. FT: Croatia 0-0 Brazil On to extra time to decide this and maybe penalty shootout. #WorldCup

Croatia are an inspiration right now. They are effectively the king of extra time. Whichever team they play in the semis will be very careful not to tow the extra time path with Croatia. They were ranked 7th of the eight remaining teams to win the World Cup. Well, they just knocked out the tournament favourite. This tournament is unbelievably interesting! FT: Croatia 1-1 Brazil (Croatia wins 4-2 on penalty shootout) #WorldCup

Van Dijk was sharply criticized for not doing enough to lead the Netherlands national team. After losing the first penalty that sent them packing from the World Cup, those criticisms will only grow louder. FT: Netherlands 2:2 Argentina ( Argentina wins 4-3 on penalties) #WorldCup

Total football. Tiki-taka. Gegenpressing. Counter pressing. Counter attack. What's the best way to play and win a football match? Manchester City's Rodri decided to run his mouth and attack Morocco for sitting deep and hitting on the counter while Spain with all the possession couldn't muster two shots on target. Shut up, Rodrigo! is my answer to the myopic view of the Spanish midfielder. https://ecency.com/hive-101690/@mckane/shut-up-rodrigo Image Source:…

It is written... Has Messi's World Cup win finally put an end to the tiring GOAT debate? Each to his opinion. Afterall, football is about opinions. Congratulations, Argentina. FT: Argentina 3:3 France (Argentina wins 4-2 on penalties)
