Halloween it's not our tradition In Portugal we have something different Our tradition started after the big earthquake that hit Lisbon on November 1st, 1755 Lisbon as greatly destroyed and ppl had to beg for food in nearby villages, specially orphans Till now Portuguese children go knocking door to door asking, politely, "Breath for God" Although recently the gummies and chocolates became trendy, it's still costumary to make special cookies called SoulMassCake So, not tonight, but tomorrow morning, we'll have a lot of kids on the streets, each with a clothesbag, polite and smiling or else no one gives them anything 🤣 Healing Dreams Beautiful Peaceful Warriors Whatever your tradition is, be kind and polite always ❤️❤️❤️

Halloween was not our culture too... but people here started adopting it just because they have seen it a lot in the tv and the internet. In yours, you have the reason to do something similar to trick-or-treat... and I think it is a more meaningful tradition than the Halloween.
Here kids have to be nice and polite, with "tricks" they get nothing 🤣

Halloween never was a culture in Europe, it came from Amerika. But little by little people started celebrating it here too. I still not. You have very beautiful and meaningfull tradition.
There's some ppl here carving pumpkins and dressing up on Halloween night, but not many, por own tradition is part of our history, a sad story yes, but it's our own. Everyone likes this day, the elderly go shopping specially for this day and everyone makes the traditional cakes
We don't really celebrate Halloween here in my country what we celebrate is All Saints Day right now November 1 and tomorrow All Souls Day. Remembering our departed love ones.
Yes, the day of the death is celebrated here too, I think it's celebrated world wide, but it's a tradition that it's fading, most ppl want to be cremated now
My mom was cremated but because we want to bring her home here in the Philippines and it take them 7 months for them to come home. Because of some COVID protocol on flying and the quarantine that's why.
But now she's with you?? Or in a cemetery?? I think, if I could, I would keep my loved ones ashes at home ❤️❤️
She stayed in the house for 5 days and we send her off to my father's side in the cemetery. They said we should put her in her resting place for her soul to be at peace.
