Protecting ALL Sentient Beings The Portuguese political party, PAN ( People Animals Nature) used the international Animal Day to propose a law to protect All Animals, not only the "usual company pets" - cats and dogs are already protected by law I am very proud to say that Portugal has no stray dogs/cats. Many years of good social educational policy payed of. Now a days all pets must have a chip, vaccinations and proper cares Hurting a pet is a felony and it's punished with fines or even jail, besides the rescue and relocation of the pet What about all other animals...??!! Sure, most are considered less... It's too easy to buy meat without feeling guilt, it's just pieces in the supermarket along with rice and pasta... But than we see alarming news... The new trend is to raise chickens completely in the dark, seem to make them grow even faster in a short period of time 😳😣 Pigs killed with boiling water... Cows and horses left to die, chained with no water or food... Anyone that ever holds any living creature in their hands know that they have feelings too Obviously humans been eating meat for millions of years. But how much?? Meat was considered a rare treat, not like today, constantly present in everything most ppl eat What Energy will a chick that never had a mom, never saw the sun light, never had a cuddle in his life give the ones eating his meat?? That's a constant question in my mind Now a days there's more & more ppl sick because they overeat Eating became a social habit, a way to fill the void, the new social drug With everything in life, less is more Except Love Kindness and Awareness That is never too much #VeganForever #AllLifeMatters #WeAreONE #CrueltyFreeFood ✨☮️🌍🙏♥️

Nice one from Portugal. Not sure if same laws will be implemented in my country soon. Poultry and ungulates suffer it most as they are eaten by most. That is very hard to stop except if the whole world goes entirely vegan.
While I tend to agree with you regarding mammals, I do believe that parasites should be killed, as should things such as leeches, fleas, and my least favorite critter, those despicable mosquitoes. However, I then read this, "What Energy will a chick that never had a mom, never saw the sun light, never had a cuddle in his life give the ones eating his meat??", and realized there was more here than just a setup for another rant about how mosquitoes suck. Yes, I wonder that myself. We raise eggs on our farm, but the hens live in cramped cages. What sort of "life energy" are they imparting to their sterile eggs? If an animal lives a miserable life, and we then eat it, are we somehow absorbing part of its misery? None of this is scientific, but as we know, blind faith in science can lead to monstrous results. (Anybody care to make further "improvements" to the Covid19 virus?) Don't be a Science Maximalist! We need to acknowledge that not all that is important can be proven via science. Can you imagine a science of ethics? How would you measure a "unit of goodness"?
