Things I find in the trash... Part 10000000 😠 I understand, kids grows and cloth don't, they stop playing with those toys, ppl buy a better/bigger Christmas tree, a better/new iron... I understand that But WHYYYYY put in the trash????? All this I found in by the trash or the recycling bins. The iron is shining, working perfectly, steam coming out The "painting" was never used, still has the plastic wrap The "kitchen toy" has the door broken, but all rest it's just fine There was a huge bad filled with boy clothes, size 2 y, in perfect conditions, washed and smelling good The Christmas tree has balls, adornments and lights still in it Do you have Any idea how many ppl need this??! Dam, the church is 20 mt from the recycling bins, why not put it near the door I took photos of all these items as soon as I got them home, put it on our FB solidarity group, in a few minutes everything was donated, ppl will pass here to get them Over the years I've been taking from the "garbage": cribs, cloths, blankets, sofas, toys, baby strollers... I'm not ashamed of that What I'm ashamed of is that there's still Humans that don't care to give, even what they no longer want/need 😠😠😠 At least now all these will be useful Do you see good things like this by the trash in your country?? I think it's a sign of how stupid selfish ppl can be

It's sad that we consume and buy so much these days we don't even need just because we can. I recently saw a post online about wasted food in an eat-all-you can buffet yet many people defend the action of those who wasted the food which is the more shocking. We really should be more considerate about others and just ourselves.
For the ppl and for the planet, we need to stop this consumerism without any logic. Even when we can/want to buy something better, it's a moral duty to give what can be re-used Nor even talking about money issues, it's ecogical

I use my stuff to the limit, I treasure the story behind it. And if I really don't need it or have extra, I donate
Yes i also donate my stuff to needy people when i don't want to use that more but i can't throw it in trash 🗑️

I really hate that too. We have some local giveaway Facebook groups where we 'donate' things we don't need anymore. And someone in our town also placed a 'giveaway table' where people can leave things. The things left behind there are always quickly collected. Quite a nice initiative. We have brought some things there as well.
Here we have countless solidarity groups, with church and privately, in FB, in social security, elderly homes... All ppl have to do is to drop the things in proper places or post so someone can pick it up Still this keeps happening everyday I swear, iron costs at least 200€ new, I brought it home thinking it wasn't working, just to dispose it in the proper bin for small electronics... But it's working marvelous... Wtf... Why put it on the trash??? I mean... There's no planet B
We have a centralized disposal area, so we don't see it a lot in the 'normal' garbage, but it's nice to see there are also a lot of good initiatives. We also have the 'repair café' where you can bring your broken things like furniture, clothes, electronic equipment, tools etc. and volunteers will try to fix it for you.
Brazilian and other foreign now coming to Portugal say they admire how kind and giving Portuguese are.. Most of us... But still this things happen... After I did this post, I also found a beautiful old furniture (no idea how to say it in English) by the trash near my sons school, also sent it to the solidarity group, in case someone wants it, it won't fit in my car... And it's about to rain... It's a shame to see it ruined 😒
Really annoying behavior here to do this even our good clothes that we no longer want to donate to anyone in need
It's so easy to give, there's proper places spread everywhere, no reason whatsoever to do this. Some ppl are just made of ice 😠
Yes, today I found a Samsung Galaxy S2 in a collection of electro trash. In the original box. Need to check if it works but it looks almost new.
What???? 😱😱 How stupid can ppl be??? I don't know how's things there, but here it's getting more and more difficult
It was one of those giveaway boxes that are often left on people's doorsteps here. Whoever needs something from it takes it with them. I'll write a post about it soon.
That's a beautiful thing, here we don't have that, but we help in other ways, anonimously as possible
