Torch Parade August 9, 2022 Tuesday *****Barangay***** is the smallest administrative division in the Philippines and is the native Filipino term for a village, district, or ward. In metropolitan areas, the term often refers to an inner city neighborhood, a suburb, or a suburban neighborhood or even a borough. It is also referred as barrio. Source: Wikipedia https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barangay Here in the Philippines, we celebrate a lot of fiesta, from village fiesta, town or city fiesta and province fiesta. Yes, ***fiesta is a spanish word which means feast***. It is a religious festival and a celebration for the city or province's patron saint. Last Saturday, I posted in noise.cash about an event, you can check on ME to see my post. Well, it is the Torch Parade (*Sinugdan in our dialect),* it will be an opening celebration days prior to the feast day. After the pandemic, this year will be the first time that we can celebrate this feast freely. I mean, everybody can engage to any events organize prior to the feast day and just follow minimum health protocols like wearing face mask. Yes, everyone was excited. Together with us are friends and neighbors, its a gloomy afternoon and they said the parade will start by 5pm. So we gathered around at the side of the road where the route will pass. Everyone was excited and some also wants to join as it will pass in our way.

While waiting, we make fun and the kids also just enjoy. We do some selfie and groupie and play around. A few moments the kids enjoy being out distant away from the house.

After a few minutes of waiting, the road traffic slowly building up and oh my there are really a lot of people who join the parade. At first, we saw the parade on the other side where we stay as it will take a turn in a distant to pass by here on our sides. Many trucks with sound systems and lights. Since the beat is new, the young ones cannot help but also dance even the kids together with us. Many follow the trucks dancing and some also drinking. You can see that they are not wearing face mask anymore. Oh my, everyone really wants to celebrate it the normal way back then.

The night takes over and the torch parade take a bit long before passing our side. We also get our umbrellas already since the rainshowers already started and I do want to ruin the kids excitement watching the parade near us. Thus after seeing the trucks near us with sounds and lights, we slowly take our walk home. But some of our neighbors join the parade as it will end in the barangay chapel. Closing Thoughts Before pandemic, we Filipinos in our country are really great in celebrating any festival from the torch parade opening day until the feast day. And now that the government seem to loose the health protocols and allow gatherings, everyone seems to have got bailed from prison.lol Thank you for reaching this far reading my article.
