He is hurt. He doesn't even know how to cope with what is hurting him. He is so scared that if he lets his guard down, if he lets someone in and they see him, the flaws and all. He is scared they would still love him and he doesn't think he deserves that love because he lives in a world where he is constantly told that ho doesn't. He needs to be told that he deserves that love, he deserves to be happy. But he has to believe that.
