Publishing more, engaging less - The Rusty effect
Rusty here is our tipping not - the random rewarder. Week after week it seems users are less interested in engaging, rather they are more interested in creating and publishing their own articles. I can bet there are users who go a week publishing numerous articles but never make out a minute to read and leave valuable comments on the articles published by others users. Could this be the rewarder effect? Well, rusty only tip articles, none for comments and I don't think it rewards short post. The idea of no gain for reading and commenting has probably discouraged lots of users. They definitely prefer publishing that earns to reading and commenting that has no financial benefit to it. User engagement measures whether users find value in your content. But with read.cash as an earning platform, a user may find value in your content, but fail to share his thought or give feedbacks. Why? The answer is obvious. How to improve user engagement? I have been thinking of ways to improve users engagement on this platform and like I mentioned in my previous article on commenting the forgotten hero, the best way is to stimulate them by giving incentives for commenting. Though this comes with negative effect like the spam commenting. The fastest way to improve user engagement is having a comment rewarding system. Like Mr Rusty tipping valuable comments. Not just Rusty, but we all to motivate our readers by tipping comments whenever you can. Sometimes is not that users are unwilling to engage, but they may not find the articles good enough to engage. To improve this, we all need to analyze our articles to know what users like and then make necessary changes and improvements. We can do this: **Find out what users consider engaging** - some articles induce more engagement than others, identify what works and consider changes to deliver more of such. **Communicating with users**. You can ask content related questions at the end of your articles. This can induce the readers to share their experiences and thoughts regarding the content. Also try to reply to comments on your article as much as possible. **Posting often**. You probably don't post enough comment as consistency and familiarity breed trust. Think about it: to get engagement, you need subscribers, and you are not going to acquire them if you don't post regularly. And don't just post for the sake of it, as this will turn off your subscribers and you may lose some of them. Closing thought Aside from tipping comments authors can work on creating compelling contents that drives user engagement.

I agree with you: people soon found out that the Rewarder likes long articles and nothing more, so no more interactive posts. Just a barrage of 4-12 minute reads with little to no value. Only a select few bother to post meaningful content and actually engage their favorite writers.
Long article? No. Good article? No. Not all the time. The tipping is pretty random and you can just be lucky sometimes.
That's the issue. Even though I can't complain, I do have a feeling that many rich and high-quality articles are getting skipped by the bot which goes on to reward two-minute articles that really don't have that much content.
if you check the original announcement of the change to bot tipping, the bot was supposed to tip good comments, but i haven't seen that happen at all. it's possible that most comments were not considered interesting, but the bot has also ignored a lot of interesting articles imo.
Bang on! And I've never seen any comment get tipped by the bot anyway. It doesn't matter if an article is short or long one >1 or 12 mins and more. They can get tip by posting a picture with one-line description and get tipped! You can write your heart out and nada.

This is true. Some tried to post at least 3 articles a day. How they can do that, I want to know because making a single article cost me a lot of time already. I have wonderful people in my comment section and very proud of their meaningful comments. But still, there are some who just leave a non-related comment.
Speech that can be shared. Recipes and remedies I do not feel like give, also because I am one of those who comments little, but this does not mean that you do not appreciate the posts of many users of the platform. Greetings from kork75
I am wondering if the comments are taken into account when the activity bonus is calculated. However, even if that is the case, it would be much better if the bot actually tipped comments, because other users will see that you can get rewarded for good comments.
Do you have that activity bonus? Because many don't. As for me, I can confirm that every comment you make gives you like .05 then eventually gets lower as you keep commenting. Which is why I'm no longer just waiting for Rusty to show up but time to time he's surprising me :)
The activity bonus is being displayed to me, but I cannot claim it (yet -- hopefully). I will have a closer look how it changes. Writing this comment did not change it at all, but maybe I have maxed out that bonus for one day. I was very active today. 😅
