I am one of those people who liked listening to mellow and painful type of songs. It's not because I can relate to it but because I feel the pain on each lyric and I hear the sound of desperation, betrayal, sorrow and those feelings which are often unwanted but since we are human, we have no way of setting it aside or deleting it. Sam Smith has been one of my favorite artists because his songs are such a mood when singing at the karaoke. I liked how his feelings and emotions are conveyed via song lyrics. He's a good artist but these songs are the particular songs which struck me the most. This song has been one of those which was sang, yet the message was way too impactful which is the reality of most people. I have no right to judge anyone who is in this kind of relationship but it's not worth it. Nothing about staying in a painful relationship is worth it. It breaks your heart and makes you slowly lose yourself.
