SALUTE TO THE FARM WORKERS! Last night, I watched on TV how some of our favorite vegetables are being conveyed before they arrive in our table to be consumed. It featured the farm workers of Benguet who hand-carry crates of farm produce while passing a narrow trail along a 100 meters deep ravine in order to bring the vegetables to be picked up by dealers and I had seen how dangerous their situation is in order to earn a living and sometimes they earn nothing for the day when the dealers will not arrived to picked the said items. As a sign of respect for them, farmers and farm workers in general, we should not waste the food we eat because the crops of which our food came from are derived from the hard labor and sacrifices from them.
