Very good days. Strolling through the gardens of my neighbors in search of new flowers to share and learn more about them, I have come across this beauty. It is known by the common names Amaryllis, Pink Lily, Santa Paula Lily or Belladonna Lily. The name Amaryllis comes from mythology, specifically from the lover of the shepherd Titiro. It belongs to the Amaryllidaceae family and is native to South Africa. They are perennial herbaceous plants with a thick bulb that reach 60 cm in height. The fleshy leaves are deep green in color and linear in shape. The scented flowers can be white, pink, red or yellow) and appear at the end of the stem in groups of 8; they look like lilies. They bloom from summer to fall.
