Good morning, my dear noisers. I present to you this beautiful flower and with it its meaning and what a very famous legend tells. Each flower has its history, according to popular cultures. Hydrangeas do not have a very good reputation, undoubtedly for unfair or arbitrary reasons. It is said that women who have hydrangeas at home are more likely to argue with their husbands and single women will not find a partner for their entire lives due to the negative influence of these plants. However, legend has it that the French King Louis XIV commissioned his men to search beyond the seas for new varieties to adorn the gardens of his palaces. Apparently, aboard the ship that left for Brazil, was traveling a weak and fragile cabin boy who everyone made fun of. Upon reaching the Brazilian coast, the indigenous people captured the boy named Banet. After managing to free him, the crew realized that the boy that everyone believed to be a weak and vulnerable man was actually a beautiful, strong and determined woman who had dressed in transvestites to leave her land and see her world. Upon returning to France, the king, aware of her odyssey, baptized one of the flowers brought on the ship from Brazil with the real name of the false cabin boy Banet: Hortensia. So it may be the apple of discord in homes according to popular culture but I prefer the version of King Louis XIV, for me it symbolizes gallantry, courage and temperance.
