Bangladesh has a rich tradition of pottery. 'Mat' means soil and art means beautiful creative objects. That is why pottery is called 'pottery', and those who are involved with it are called potters. Kumar does all the work in a dazzling way with his impossible artistic skills and sweetness hidden in his mind. This industry is one of the oldest and one of the industries in Bangladesh which carries the heritage of Bangladesh.

In the evolution of time, in the age of industrialization, the tradition of this pottery is gradually disappearing in rural Bengal. Lack of sufficient demand in the market, non-change of scope of work over time, lack of innovation in work, inconsistency of expenditure with income, increase in price of soil used as raw material, transportation of raw materials and manufactured goods have been stifled. due to various reasons. This is a traditional art of Bengal for many years. Not only this, with the help of various utensils made of different metals including plastic, steel, melamine, ceramic and silver, the pottery is losing its appeal day by day.

Now these earthenware utensils can be seen in the fair held at special times. Especially in the farewell and welcome festival of Bengali year. These earthenware items will be available in the hands of those who come to the fair. These also took place in the Mars Shaivayatra.
