The Tale of the Two Princes : Ruptured Veins β Part 7
Prince William has been traveling for a week. His food and water supplies were also running low, and his horse was undoubtedly tired as well. He was already close to the Kingdom of Cyra when he was halted by unknown men who seemed threatening because of the knives and swords they were wielding. Bandits.
"Uh, hey, folks. Just passing by..." Prince William nervously said.
"Oh, another prince attempting to pursue Oizys. Today is our lucky day, boys!" One of the bandits said, smirking. And all of the guys around him laugh evilly, as though something awful will happen to the prince.
"We won't hurt you, Your Highness, if you give us what we want without hesitation." He added.
"Then, what do you want?" Prince William asked.
"Everything. From your jewelry, golds, food, clothing, and shoes. Everything." One of the bandits said.
To end the negotiations, Prince William surrendered all he had until all that left were his undergarments and the necklace his mother had given him when he was a child.
"You don't seem to get what I mean when I say "everything". Alright. You may keep your underwear, but I'd want to have that necklace." One of the bandits said.
"Please, not this one. This is really important to me. Please. You have everything I own..." Prince William pleaded.
"Well, then we'll have to take it away from you by force." The bandits drew their swords from their sheaths and aimed them at the prince.
First, he was attacked by a gigantic bald man with the name "Esmeralda" tattooed in an arrow heart on his chest. He dodged every slash of the man's sword. Prince William hit the guy in the stomach and used his knee to knock him down, giving him the opportunity to seize that man's sword.
Prince William was doing great and had defeated seven out of ten opponents until he was unexpectedly stabbed three times in the back. His knees weakened, and he slumped to the ground. He coughed and blood spilled out of his mouth. One of the bandits snatched the necklace from the prince's neck and went away as if nothing had happened.
When Prince William could no longer hear anybody around him, he forced his eyes open, and despite his hazy vision, he saw an owl in front of him. It's Prince Nathan's owl. He remembered that owl who used to deliver a letter from Prince Nathan to the window of his chamber whenever his father, the king, imprisoned him for being disrespectful.
"You don't really trust me, Nathan." He smirked.
He took out the royal handkerchief with the blood stain and handed it to the owl. The owl seemed to understand the task and flew with a handkerchief in its beak.
"It's all in your hands now, Nathan. Do your best." The prince last words and slowly closed his eyes.
"Hey! Hey! Sir, open your eyes!" the stranger said.
The stranger touched the prince's wrist, and he felt his every pulse weaken, it's like he's about to die. He carried the prince into the nearby forest and took him to his cottage. He prepared a basin with water and a towel. He cleaned the prince's body as well as his wounds.
After stitching up the prince's wounds, the stranger came out of his house and gathered marigold flowers from his yard. He extracted the oil that was produced by the flower and then carefully applied it to the wound. He was about to go get some clothes to lend to the prince when he overheard the prince muttering in his sleep.
"A-Amelie... Amelie...No..."
To be continued.
Yello! π
Yaay! We've reached the halfway point of the story. I'm so glad it's nearing its end. Haha! Anyway, I took the day off from work today due to severe dysmenorrhea and body pain. It's hilarious to think that both Prince William and I are in pain and bleeding right now. Lol.
Thank you for taking the time to read this tale all the way through. I hope you've enjoyed reading this. Let me know your thoughts in the comments.
Keep safe you guys. xoxo
