The dog ate my mummy
It was a cool afternoon. The sun had gone to rest behind the clouds. The wind was gently whistling by and supply the environ with fresh air. I had just finished packing some dry leaves inside what you can call the bedroom. I just had to do this to provide for my family and myself a soft material to lay down on instead of sleeping on the hard floor. Suddenly, I heard a shout some metres away 'help, help me!' I was scared and I resolve to go see what the shout was all about. Lo and behold, it was my brother running as if he had see a ghost. I could notice a stain of red ink on hands and part of the air on his belly. I quickly had a surrounding check to be sure there was no Hunter or dangerous animal around. When I was sure the surroundings was clear, I quickly pulled him inside and tried to calm him down. I could see the terror In his eyes, the perspitation of his heartbeat, the shaking of his whole being as he continually whispers 'h..hhee... ate her. Heee... ate mmmuumm.' couldn't really understand him, or should say I didn't want to.
Our small village is situated in the heart of a mountain with many vegetations. We had made our homes in holes and caves in the mountain and underground to protect us from our natural enemies and the fierce hunters. We had appointed some of us as guards and watchers to give warnings and alert of us of the presence of any threatening personality in the environ. This is really important because of the high rate at which we lost members of our clan. I can remember vividly the invasion of our village by those fierce looking hunters with Sophisticated weapons which claimed at least 80 memebers of the clan. Some where killed at the spot while the others were taken alive. It was on that fateful that I lost my father. It happened at night. We had tried severe means of providing protection and security for ourselves. I heard someone even volunteered to train the whole clan the act of offence and defence, but then, where would we get weapons from?
Back to the matter at hand. I tried all I could to calm my brother down and tell him to look me in the face and tell me all that has happened. He started with a big sigh and when he eventually opened his mouth all I could hear was the grinding of his teeth against each other. I was confused. Then in a flash, I remembered something. This remembrance brought a cold chill down my back as of a serpent gliding through. I swallowed my saliva hard and asked with a fear-instilled voice, "where is mother?". The answer I got was a loud shout and my brothers palms showing what I though was red ink at first. I fell to the ground with tears rushing in full force to my eyes. I gasped for breath. I tried shouting but all that came out was a whiz.
One the morning of that fateful day, my mom said she was going out to get some foodstuff for the whole family and my brother had volunteered to go with her. Initially, my mother had objected saying she would go alone and get the foodstuffs reasoning being that she doesn't want to expose any member of the family to harm. But my brother, being the sturbbon head that he is, had maintain that he is going and nothing wijivha get that. They both left with me and my other siblings to arrange the house and put everything in order for the coming winter. Now my brother as returned and my mom is nowhere to be found.
I managed to ask my brother how it happened (guessing it was my mom's blood he has shown me), he said in a much clearer voice 'The dog has ate my mother'. He then managed to narrated how it happened to me but not without consistent groanings, crying and shouts. He said they had already gotten all the foodstuffs they needed and where already coming home, when he sitted a nice larg piece of carrot sitting all by itself in the middle of the bush. He wanted it so bad and was going to get it when my mother told him to leave it as it maybe a trap to entice preys. He said he didn't listened to her, rather he went ahead and bent to pick the 'eat-me' carrot. Out of nowhere, a large, fierce, big teethed dog appeared and would have killed him if not for my mother who ran and pushed him out of danger way. He was lucky to have his life but his saviour which was my mom got torn apart by the dog. He had tried rescuing my mom from the dog's teeth but to no avail. He said my mother with her last strength as tears gathered in her eyes shouted 'Runnnn...'. Now he is here at home and my mom in a dog's belly. I felt like beating him up and tearing him apart by myself but I don't really have that kind of energy due to the grieve in my heart.
Well, I had to accept fate as it. It's what we face Everytime. That was really a sorrowful one for all the members of the clan. We went about with our heads down and spoke gently. As if to add to our injury an eagle come out of nowhere and swooped one of the litters as she was running around. Mountain rabbits are one of eagle's favourite meal, hence our regular predator. I look forward to a day where I and other members of my clan would walk, look for food and play without looking back or up into the sky.
Note: This is a fiction story and a product of my imaginative mind.

Steps to increasing your muscle mass
Hello everyone, welcome to my blog. Today I will be sharing tips on how to get bigger muscles. Go through them all and make sure to apply them.
**1. Maximize Muscle Building**
The more protein your body stores—in a process called protein synthesis—the larger your muscles grow. But your body is constantly draining its protein reserves for other uses—making hormones, for instance.
The result is less protein available for muscle building. To counteract that, you need to “build and store new proteins faster than your body breaks down old proteins,” says Michael Houston, Ph.D., a professor of nutrition at Virginia Tech University.
Shoot for about 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight, which is roughly the maximum amount your body can use in a day, according to a landmark study in the *Journal of Applied Physiology*.
For example, a 160-pound man should consume around 160 grams of protein a day—the amount he’d get from an 8-ounce chicken breast, 1 cup of cottage cheese, a roast-beef sandwich, two eggs, a glass of milk, and 2 ounces of peanuts. Split the rest of your daily calories equally between carbohydrates and fats. https://www.menshealth.com/nutrition/a19545596/cook-with-protein-powder/
**Eat more.**
In addition to adequate protein, you need more calories. Use the following formula to calculate the number you need to take in daily to gain 1 pound a week. (Give yourself 2 weeks for results to show up on the bathroom scale. If you haven’t gained by then, increase your calories by 500 a day.)
A. Your weight in pounds: _____
B. Multiply A by 12 to get your basic calorie needs: _____
C. Multiply B by 1.6 to estimate your resting metabolic rate (calorie burn without factoring in exercise): _____
D. Strength training: Multiply the number of minutes you lift weights per week by 5: _____
E. Aerobic training: Multiply the number of minutes per week that you run, cycle, and play sports by 8: _____
F. Add D and E, and divide by 7: _____
G. Add C and F to get your daily calorie needs: _____
H. Add 500 to G: _____. This is your estimated daily calorie needs to gain 1 pound a week.
**3. Work Big, Not Small**
Yes, biceps curls are fun, but if you want to put on muscle, you have to do more to challenge your body. And one key to doing that, says Samuel, is working through so-called "multi-joint" movements. "Yes, isolation training has value," says Samuel, "but it can't be the backbone of your training."
Instead, you want to do exercises that challenge multiple joints and muscles at once. Take, for example, a dumbbell row. Every row rep challenges biceps, lats, and abs. Using multiple muscle groups allows you to lift more weight, says Samuel, a key stimulator of growth (more on that later). And it pushes you to use muscles together, just as you do in real life. "Multi-joint moves are key in your workouts," he says.
Make sure moves like squats, deadlifts, pullups, and bench presses are in your workout to take advantage of that. All will stimulate multiple muscle groups at the same time, and in order to grow, you want to do that.
**4. Have a Drink First**
A 2001 study at the University of Texas found that lifters who drank a shake containing amino acids and carbohydrates before working out increased their protein synthesis more than lifters who drank the same shake after exercising.
The shake contained 6 grams of essential amino acids—the muscle-building blocks of protein—and 35 grams of carbohydrates.
“Since exercise increases bloodflow to your working tissues, drinking a carbohydrate-protein mixture before your workout may lead to greater uptake of the amino acids in your muscles,” says Kevin Tipton, Ph.D., an exercise and nutrition researcher at the University of Texas in Galveston.
For your shake, you’ll need about 10 to 20 grams of protein—usually about one scoop of a whey-protein powder. Can’t stomach protein drinks? You can get the same nutrients from a sandwich made with 4 ounces of deli turkey and a slice of American cheese on whole wheat bread. But a drink is better.
**5. Don't Always Go Hard**
Your body should move every day, but that doesn't mean your workouts should take you to fatigue and exhaustion. "If you train your hardest every day, your body doesn't get a chance to grow," says Samuel. "Pick your spots to attack." Aim to finish every workout feeling good, not dead. Limit your weight room workouts to 12-16 total sets of work, and never go beyond that.
**Maximize the time under tension**
One sometimes-forgotten way to progressively overload your muscles is to leave them under more of something called "time under tension". When you're muscles are working, whether they're under a bench press bar, or whether your biceps is working to curl a dumbbell upwards, they're under "tension" from the weight. You can feel this too: If you stand holding dumbbells at your sides, your biceps aren't under tension. The moment you begin to curl them upwards, you'll feel them flex against the "tension" of the dumbbells. Experienced lifters often use this tension to their advantage. Instead of just lifting and lowering a weight (on say, that biceps curl), they lift with a specific tempo. They might curl up as fast as they can, for example, and then lower the weight for 3 focused seconds with good form on every rep.
Doing this leaves your muscles under tension for longer than a typical set, in which you might lift and lower the weight without any specific timing. And that extra time under tension during a set can help spark muscle growth.
Note that you can do this on almost any strength exercise. It doesn't work for explosive exercises, like kettlebell swings, snatches, and cleans. But squats, deadlifts, curls, pullups and pushups (and many other moves) can be tweaked to add more time-under-tension, pushing your muscles farther on every rep.
Lastly, Do not joke with your rest and sleep
Sleep is often the forgotten variable in the journey to muscle. You spend plenty of time training, but what you often don't realize is this: When you're asleep, your muscles are recovering and your body is growing. It's also during this period that muscle-growing hormones are secreted.
You know by now that, ideally, you want to get 8 to 10 hours of sleep. That, of course, doesn't always happen, but you want to do what you can to maximize the quality of the hours you do get, if you can't hit 8 hours.
So think about your sleep setup if you're serious about muscle. Try to go to bed at the same time every day and try to rise at the same time every day. And sleep in a fully dark, fully quiet cool room. All these little things optimize sleep quality and that can have an underrated effect on your ability to build muscle.

Investing in BCH and other projects with no regrets
The Advent Crytocurrency has truly changed the world and is moving the world from a system of payment using fiat currency to the use of DAO and other cryto platforms. Crypto currency has equipped some many with monetary power and has turned peanuts into millions. But with all its advantages comes so many more disadvantages. Scammers and cyber thieves are using this medium to defraud people of heir hard earned wealth with the creation of many cryptos by the day and proclaiming or hyping them to the good coins.
Like I have said so many people have become wealthy through Crytocurrency. I can vividly remember the times of introduction of certain pioneer coins such as Bitcoin, Ethereum and the likes and then the era of shitty coins which gives their holders over 1000% profits as the case maybe. Now the cryptoverse is currently in the stage of NFTs and people are taking advantage of this to increase their profit intake. But going back to the issue of fraud in the Crypto space, it will definitely be unwise to invest into any coin with out proper research. I will list some Crytocurrency that I think is worth investing in.
BCH: This is the Bitcoin cash. It is based on the Bitcoin blockchains and uses it use-issue to flourish. BCH was issued and listed into the Crypto market on July 23, 2017 with a starting price of $413 and reached as high as $2806 before dropping again due to the drop in Bitcoin which affected almost all other coins. This is one the crypto coins worth investing in as it is projected that the price should hit over $1500 at the end of the year and over $3750 by 2026. So take advantage of this info and bag some BCH.
Alt coins. The purchase of some altcoins are without doubt amazingly profitable. To know which altcoins to buy, DYOR by checking the road map of the coin, the chart over a long period of time, the market cap and volume locked and in circulation. If 15% or below is in circulation or in the wallet of their holders, that is definitely a red flag. Do not buy it! If the market cap is lower than 20,000, then run for your dear money😁 Also do not FOMO (Fear of losing out) because of the hyping of a coin. It happened during the Squip coin, Diemlibre and so on. Make sure to do your research before investing in any coin. But when you do your research well, you may end up purchasing a good coin like saitama (which is currently low giving it a good time to stuff your bags), SHIB, PAWS, etc.
Stable coins. These are tokens that doesn't really depreciate or appreciate in value instead they are used to maintain the original value of you money. They can be used for purchasing other coins or be still swapped to other coins. Some these coins are TWT (Trust Wallet Token), BUSD, USDT, USDC (used mostly on the Solana blockchain), and so on.
Please note all the above is not a financial advise, so I'd repeat do your own research (DYOR)
Free Money and crypto sites
You can also earn free crytpto using various platforms and sites such as:
Read.cash (https://read.cash/@Danika/singing-vampires-b1edb8ee)
Noise.cash
Memo.cash
Coingig

Overall, the cryptoverse provides more opportunities for people to take advantage of and make some money for themselves. For example, you can earn crypto by writing on read.cash and noise.cash. you can also make money while doing what you love, playing games. Artists too can now list their amazing designs and earn insane amount of money for it.

Religion in Africa
The term religion is widely defined as the act of offering services or worship to a supreme being, usually an omniscient being or a deity. There are different religion or gods worshipped in different part of the world. The Indians have theirs, the Chinese have theirs, the Amazon Americans have theirs and the Africans are not left out. Infact the African culture and tradition is deeply rooted in their religious beliefs. They appoint their leaders through their religion and even Carryout their business activities in line with their religion.
Quick history of religion in Africa (Nigeria in particular)
Africa is blessed with different languages, culture and tradition. Religion is an important aspect of the African life. There is no history of any African clan that doesn't have it root from the metaphysical realm.
Before the coming of Christianity and Islam, Africans (Nigeria in particular) already have their own religion. These religion are practiced in respect to worshipping a god or demi-god. Some of these gods include: Ogun, obatala, orunmila, sango, chi, ayelala and so on. These gods are believed to be the source of goodluck, direction, protection, power and blessing to them. Africans are very conscious of their tradition and would not joke with it. At times, some taboos are spelt out to deter and control the people from committing crimes and also to ensure peace and order in the society. This really worked out well with very minimal crimes being committed and humanity sewn into the very fibre of their hearts.
Festival times and seasons
Some times were appointed as their festival times and seasons. Take for example, the osun festival in osun state where the gods are invoked to send down rain even though it's the dry season. A white woman who visited the festival some years past decided that this festival shouldn't be what is done in secret. She made it public and before soon, tourist from all part of the world started flooding the site. It is also believed that he osun goddess grants the prayer requests of pregnant women by giving them children.
Another festival celebrated is the eegun festival. Although this festival is very common in all Yoruba lands, it is elaborately done in Lagos State with the masquerade dressed in white robe and a big round hat on his head. He holds a long whip with which he inflict pain on those that dare to stand in his way.
Another festival is the mare festival in idanre. It is an international festival that attracts tourist, investors and athletes from all parts of the world. There are many fun activities to be done there like: mountain climbing, step climbing, adventure tour, history unfolding sights, etc. The idanre hills is actually a historical ground of the idanre people. It was said that the hill gave them shelter from the enemies during war times. There is a river there that has healing properties. Whoever goes into this water would be cured of his/her disease.
Wonders of Idanre hills
There are many remarkable sites on the Idanre hills. Some of them are
The mysterious foot hole. There is a hole shaped like a foot on the hill. It is said that no matter how big or tiny any feet is, it will surely fit into the foot hole perfectly! If a giant dips his feet inside, it will fit. If a baby dips it foot inside it will surely fit.
The over 500years old tree.
The ancient huts and bury ground of the ancient kings. And so on.
African is blessed with diversities of traditions and religion. They use charms, voodoo, sacrifices and incantations in the worship of their gods. The object of their worship includes; stones, river bodies, iron and other metals, tree, land, heaven images and statues. One major evil in most African religion is human sacrifices. Although it dwindled to a point of extinction some years back, but now it is on rampage again due to the quick-money fever ravaging Nigeria. Apart from this negative side, the African religion is actually really sweet, entertaining, peaceful, and community binding.
