It started with a Crack Corn Who loves to eat poultry or farm meat? Do you know that the primary ingredient of the feeds for those livestock is corn? Since we are selling agricultural and poultry supplies, I was aware of the market demand of corn. When rainy season came, the price of corn from the farm gets higher because of corn is seasonal and corns get wet and it is hard to dry it up. They can't sell the corns after the harvest if it is raining and worst typhoons and low pressures. Last July, the price of the corn started to increased the usual cost of 1 bag (50kls) of crack corn is only 950.00 Pesos or $19.00 and the price increased by 300.00 Pesos or $6.00 or it became $25.00 per bag or 50 kls of cracked corn and we sell it in our shop for 30.00 pesos or $0.60 per kilo to make a profit of $5.50 in every 50 kilos. Weekly, the cost price increase for about a dollar.As a retailer, I don't increase the Selling price that frequent. So I discussed the matter to my husband, it was hard for me to buy and get supplier with a lesser price. The Corn Cracking My husband suggested to buy the corn cracker machine so that we will be the one who will buy the corn directly from the farmer and crack it then sell it as retail or maybe for wholesale. We bought the cracker machine with the reasonable price. The next step I did was to look for a farmer who has corn plantation. Blessed me, that time one of my customer harvested corn and I booked it from him. He needs to bring the corn to the corn shelling machine detach the to shell it, then he will dry it up for 3 days then ready to sell to corn traders like me. I bought 18 bags of whole corn from the farm owner for about $287.52. We cracked it for sale. Our cracking machine can produce cracked corn, corn grits (finer than the cracked corn) and the corn bran. It was our first time to crack corns and the result is not that satisfactorily because cracked corns and corn grits that came out were not that clean as I expected , the shell of the corns was mixed. It gets molds faster and it will ruin the entire cracked and grits production. We stopped cracking because It could not be sell with those shells getting molds and it lowers the quality. I asked the supplier of my corn cracking machine what should we about it. He suggested for a blower. Again, I discussed it with my husband and he agrees to buy a blower machine to blow those shell that was mixed. We packaged the *Blower Machine* with the *Corn Sheller machine* because the shell might had mixed up because of the lower quality of the corn shelling process. We added the sheller to complete the process of corn trading. From harvesting from the farm, the farmer will dry up the corn with shell for about 2-3 days then bring the dried corns to the Corn Sheller to shell it and get the whole corn and dry it up again for another 2-3 days and sell it to the corn trader. After we used it with the blower the result was good and it was 90% sellable and at least a better quality without the blower. Out of 18 bags of whole corn the we got : Cracked 11.12 bags x 50kgs. that sells $289.12 (wholesale price) Grits 3.4 bags x 50kgs. that sells $91.18 (wholesale price) Bran 3.0 bags x 50kgs. that sells $66.00 (wholesale price) We got $157.18 as gross income for whole sale price or 50% of the cost. It could be higher when we put it in our shop for retail. It's good start and good investment. The Corn Shelling As we acquired the Corn Sheller Machine Last August of the current year, 2021 as mentioned above. This month, at Sept 6, 2021 it was blessed with a client, Mr. Q. to get out service to shell his newly harvested corn. He booked us as soon as his harvested corn dried and ready to be shelled. After a week Mr. Q. called that his corn is ready to shell. It was Saturday and Vine was taking her day off and I had no one to be left in the shop to man. It was our first time to shell and I was not there to coach the 3 boys who will operate the shelling. What I did was, I let them gather first in the shop and I draw a gameplan to let them know how they will do the shelling by position in the machine and let them watched the video provided by our machine supplier to let them have an idea. Praying that even I cannot be with them, they can do it successfully. I keep on calling them the updates and there were troubles along the process but it ended up okay and finished the shelling until 8:00 o'clock in the evening. They shelled 75 sacks of corn and got 44 sacks clean whole corn out of it. The service fee we got is in every 11bags of clean whole corn we get 1 bag so we got 4 bags and 1/3 as a Corn Sheller Fee. The market value of the 4.33 bags whole corn is about $70.95, it was not that bad. If will have that kind corn shelling service once a week, ooohh!!It will bring more income. My Final Words Been so busy with those stuff for several weeks and I can't find spare time to write. Sorry for not updating or publishing any articles for several weeks. I will make up as long as I got a time. I'm a mom of two who have blended and home school modality of learning so as expected I will be their teacher so I'm asking your consideration and kindly bear we me. Starting up a business is like stepping on a silent water.You don't know how deep or shallow it will be but you got the courage to step in without thinking of getting drowned. You just have to bring with faith in Him and put your all into it until you succeed. Thank you for dropping by and taking time to read.I hope to inspire you.God bless!! -*Keekay*

I had a lot of drafts and topics but I can't finish any one of them.lol! I hope I will be having my me time to finish one this weekends!! I am following and reading your articles folks!

@Keekay

Me as a Mom What kind of Mom are you? In terms of motherhood we are unique in our own style of raising our children. There are factors that we may consider and that might affects our childrens behaviour and upbringing. ***Disclaimer*** : I will be sharing how am I as a mom. There are ways that may applicable with you and some will not be.I don't want you to follow but at least have an idea how to be and why we must be a tough mom . ***My Background*** I am a working mom of two.Our eldest is a girl, 13 years old and the youngest son (I think but not sure. Lol!) is 5 years old. I own a small business that supplies or selling agricultural and poultry products. I manage it since my husband is working abroad but it doesn't mean, he has no participation at all. Of course he is funding the financial aspects of the business and I consider his opinions and decision for some matters. We stayed at our parent's house at the moment (praying and saving for our own house soon)Almost everyday I am at the shop from 10:00am until 6:00 pm. My mom is with my kids everytime I am away. *********************************** *Since I am always away from home I leave my kids with duties and responsibilities.* ***Eldest Daughter*** : 13 years old incoming Grade 7 in Special Journalism Program Junior High School. Girl version of her dad in facial features. *Look for her younger brother, assure her that they will eat on time. *Fix the bed before going or doing anything as soon as she wakes up. *Taking a bath should be in the morning at least at 10:00am. *In cleaning, washing the dishes and washing her clothes are scheduled : *Take a nap in the afternoon. *Assignments and school works should be done according to the schedule. *Cellphone time after doing what is scheduled for the day and sleeping time at night should be 9:00pm *She only got her own cellphone when she was 12 years old.As promised when she was 5 years, I told her to have her own when she reach 12. She had 1 year old phone at the moment.* ***Younger son:*** 5 years old incoming Kinder 2. Has long hair, because he is blessed with nice hair and I am enjoying his hair that's why I don't cut it. Combination of mine and his dad's facial feature. *Eat, sleep, drink milk in the morning and in afternoon after taking a nap. *No chocolates, peanuts and other foods that could trigger his skin asthma. *No cellphone during day time. *Video watching at night before going to bed if he did the nap in the afternoon..No nap, no video or minecraft game. *Same with him, I talked to him that he will only have his own cellphone when he gets 12 and we agreed. He made me to promise to buy him iphone X when the time comes.lol!* *********************************** **Me as a Mom** Compared with my husband I'm the strict one maybe because he is away most of the time. For me, rule is rule and that rule is null when he is at home. He is always telling me that he is making up with those missed moment with the kids. I am using hanger in beating the kids if they really exceed my patience. Discipline for me is very important. I impose punishment but I don't pressure them with anything. I just want them to follow instructions and rules. I believe that mothers are the influencer of the children so I make sure that the influence that my kids will be adapting from me, is good and Godly. From thier younger years, I bring them to the church for them to hear and learn about Jesus as young as they are. I know kids are best imitator and I am aware that they are looking up to me so I am very careful with my actions. I don't spoil my kids. I'm more on rewarding them for their achievement and being obedient. I don't pressure them but motivate them. I don't scold them, I talk to them in a way that they will understand what they did and let them realize that it was bad. I let mistakes slide but never do it again. When it comes to social media accounts, I don't allow our eldest to change or know the password I made with her FB account. Yes, I made her an account wen she was 4 years old and I uploaded the pictures and videos of her since she was young. When she reached 12, I allowed her to use it but she did not know her password yet. I told her to wait until she is 18 and I will give her the account details. **Closing Message** As I write this article got a struggle because this made me think and evaluate myself with a question, *Am I a good mom*? *In what area do I lack ,exceed or needs improvement?* I am not a perfect mom but I am doing to be a great mom for my kids and whole family. I just can't stay at home to tend kids because I always think that my husband's work is not a lifetime source of income so I need to help him for the future of the family. I know, material things should not be the priority but it is a need and it compromises with the time we should spend together. But how could we survive in this tough world if we stick with the typical family set up? Being a mom does not limit in cooking, tending, washing, cleaning etc. Being a mom is being in a multi-task situation. A mom should not give up because the kids are looking up to her. Love your mom, love your wife because you don't know her worries at all. Hope you enjoy it. Thank you for reading. -Keekay

My Own Kind of Diningding "If you are a good eater, for sure you are a good cook too!"lol! This is what I always say everytime they compliment my cooking skill. My mother influenced me in cooking because she was a good cook.She did not intentionally taught me how to cook but as I have said, I am a good eater that is why I learn how by the taste of what I eat. So here it is, the First recipe I'll be sharing to you is my own kind of Diningding. *The Ingredients* The vegetable in "pakbet" is same ingredient with "diningding" like : Ampalaya, eggplant, okra, squash tomato, string bean, pork and "bagoong na isda". Pakbet - Filipino term for vegetable menu Bagoong isda - Filipino term for fermented fish *The Procedure* Cut all the vegetables into same sizes or shape whatever way you want as long as it will look presentable or attractive when you eat. Same with the pork cut it as the size of the vegetables. Put salt to pork to taste, don't add soy sauce or any seasoning.Salt is enough, mix it well and set a side. Preheat a water ( estimate the water that could only cook all the vegetable. This is not a soup menu) put all the vegetables altogether add tomatoes with a generous amount to give taste. While waiting for the vegetables to cooks, deep fry the pork in a separate pan. Wait until golden brown, the crispier the pork, the better. Drain the fried pork and add it into the vegetables.Simmer it, don't keep on mixing the vegetables while boiling to avoid the amplaya's bitterness to taste more bitter. When the vegetable is totally cooked, add a pinch of salt and seasonings. Scoop for about 2 tablespoons of " bagoong isda" put it in a separate cup add a little amount of water and stir to separate the sauce from the fish flesh and bones.Drain to get the water and put in the boiling vegetables. Simmer it for 3 minutes and check the taste. Then ready to serve. You have now "diningding" for your meal. The best partner for it is the fried or grilled fish or pork belly with spicy dip..Yum! Yum! I hope that this recipe can help you in your menu plans. Making a menu plans is hard for mothers. They think menu that suits their budget but quality and healthier one. My dear readers, everytime you eat please compliment your cook.It's not that easy to think what to cook with a tight budget. Enjoy your meal!! My Closing Thought When cooking, it does not always require a recipe, you can personalize it according to your taste and budget. Vegetables nowadays are expensive but if you know how to cook, you can modify your menu. Always plan your menu that fit with your budget and buy your kitchen stuff in the wet market with a lists to save excess in vegetables and spice. Remember that vegetables are perishable and costly. Mothers should know how to cook and teach you child to do it too. In my article about " spending my 7 days a week" I mentioned there the everyday cooking and this menu was cooked yesterday. More recipes to go!!Thank you for reading and have a healthy meal always. -Keekay Pictures are my own captures while cooking Published date : August 25, 2021

How I am Spending my 7 days in a week If you understand what "Time is Gold" means, then for sure you don't waste your time. Spending your 24 hrs in a day and 7 days in a week should be a productive week.Being productive does not always mean money. In this article I will be telling you how I spend my week from Mondays to Sundays. We should strive in this pandemic time to be more productive in our own way. Its our own understanding how being a productive be. Read mine, it may help you how to become one. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::***keekay*** ::::::::::::::::::::::::: Common Morning Daily Routine My usual daily routine every morning from Mondays to Sundays are: ***5:00 am*** - Wake up and have my daily devotion, prefer to read the daily verses from my Bible app You Version (you can download the app with this link: https://bible.com/bible . Study the verse and pray . I Share that verses with the Hiligaynon language (local dialect to let the readers understand better, the purpose it to spread seed every day with God's word) and send to my group chats especially my family group chat (messenger gc) this is one of my ministries and commitment to the Lord (spreading the gospel/word of God online). This my morning greeting to my love ones particularly my husband who is an OFW. https://bible.com/bible/10/rom.1.16.HLGN ***6:00 am*** - Starting to cook for breakfast and for pack lunch. I am starting with the rice cooking, I cook rice separately for family and for my pack lunch ( for my employees in my small business shop of agri ang poultry supplies). I take out frozen meat or fish to let them melt before cooking.While waiting I will have my coffee and prepare the vegetables to be used in my menu for the day. I can finish my cooking for about 1-3hrs depending on the menu I am preparing. While cooking, my husband will be calling through messenger while he is still at work and on his rest mode. The call will last until 8:30 am because it is the time for him to get off from work. ***8:00 am / 8:30am*** (depending on my cooking time if I finished it earlier at 8am, I take it as my plantita time. Yes, I do love planting and I have a mini garden for my plants. I will be tending them for 30 minutes before I prepare of going out to shop. I water them or time to fertilize, if given a chance and enough time, I will do the propagation. ***9:00am*** - preparation of myself from taking a bath to changing clothes. Mother time for my 5-year-old little boy, let him eat his breakfast with me and have his milk. If have enough time, I will bath him before leaving the house. Pack the lunch for shop and good to go.My travel time is 10-15 minutes to get in the shop. ***10:00am - 6:00 pm - business time*** I will be discussing in different article about my business time and about being into a business. That is my usual morning routine. It will be changed during Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::***keekay***::::::::::::::::::::::::: Hello Monday!! How you treat your Monday?Is it a hustle, on a rush or just as normal as other days? During my employment time, I hate Mondays? Who can relate about it? Well, I just wished during that time to have day off on Monday but employment can't give me that comfort. Because I have my own small business now, I take Mondays as my comfortable day. During Mondays, I wake up late as 7:00 am, yes it a reward for me. I had 2 hrs of extra sleep without rushing. I want to feel how comfortable and blessed having my own business and being the boss.lol! Waking up so late is a bossy practice.Right? This only happens on Mondays. And the rest hours of my day is still the same,the time just get adjusted. I still go to the shop but later before lunch time. At last I can say ***HELLO ON MONDAYS!!*** *Got a chance to get revenge on Mondays..lol! As if it owes me a life😊* ::::::::::::::::::::::::::***keekay***:::::::::::::::::::::::: Weekends ***Saturday*** While some of employees both private and government enjoying as the week ends, for me, myself and I still hustling during weekends. My assistant in the shop during weekdays is Vine who is taking her day off during weekends for her church ministry, she teaches children in the remote area in Valderama where she is a volunteer church worker. I just treat it as a privilege to be of help with her allowances that she get from assisting me during weekends. This is why I can go to shop late in the morning during weekdays because I can trust her with the morning operation. So my Saturday routine is a hustle. I needed to get up earlier than the usual 5:00 am, be in the shop as early as 6:00am. I am the opening and closing on duty. Whoaah!! During my employment, I can hear all the complains and clamour from my co-workers when their schedules of duty will be rambled. But this time, I cannot complain because I know that the future of my family lies in this weekend hustle. I believe in sacrifices there is always fruits to harvest. Saturday is the time for me to update my book of accounts. Personally, I do the bookkeeping, I got a degree in BS Commerce Major in Management Accounting and I am so grateful that I can apply those tearing years of my college into my own small business.Praise God for giving me this thing as a steward. ***Sunday*** My Sunday is a different day to spend. The usual store hours is 6:00 am as opening and it closes at 6:00pm. But during Sundays our store hours is adjusted to 10:30 am as opening and closes at 5:30 pm. I do the morning routine but it is still adjusted to make time for church. Yes I spend 1 hour and 30 mins in church. A litte sacrifice for a great sacrifice of Jesus who died for me. I had this commitment ever since even during employment days until I got my own business to operate. My business, my rule! Naks! Kidding aside, this is the most appreciated privilege I got from being a boss. This is how my family day looks like on Sundays(just guess who am I in the picture.lol!).Our church day is our family day. I am hoping and praying that someday I can afford to close the shop the whole Sunday or get someone to man the shop the whole day so that I could spend the day with them. This is my perfect 7!! ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::***keekay***::::::::::::::::::::::::: ***My final thought*** This is how I am spending my 7 days in a week. I hope you got the idea and know how to spend your day in a productive way. Personalize your own way of spending as long as you know you have done something to achieve your ultimate goal. Thank you for dropping and taking time to read.Don't forget to leave a comment for you reactions or any violent reactions.lol!
