Going back on track.
Last week I had a job interview I applied as a Quality Assurance, and luckily, I pass the interview it’s been a while since I applied and undergo a job interview that’s why I’m so nervous during the whole interview process. Since we’re still on pandemic I was interview virtually honestly, I’m not confident that I’m going to pass the interview because I got blackout and pause a lot while they asking me a lot of questions. Most of their questions was how can I handle the agent or associate like situational approach, leadership and coaching style. I have an experience as a quality assurance so I just apply and share all the situation and experience that I had encounter before.
Thanks God I pass the interview, I received a text message that I pass the interview, then the HR set a virtual meeting to discuss the job offer and give me some details where I’m going to have a pre-employment medical exam and what do I need to submit all the requirements. This is an onsite job but during interview they discuss that the company will provide a shuttle to the employee, I want a work at home job but I grab this because I really want to work again, I need money not just for my self but for my family and for my future.
Last Friday I undergo a medical exam; my last medical exam is when I had an annual physical exam from my previous company that was last 2019. I go to medical diagnostic center as early as 7am because I know there would be a lot of people there and aside from that I also want to finished early because I did not eat breakfast, I need to do a fasting the night before my medical exam because they going to get a blood on me. The first thing they do is got a 2-tube blood on me, then I got x-ray and ECG, this was the first time I got ECG, they put some wires on my body but it’s harmless and it only took more than 5 minutes, I think. Then I got to second floor for the urine test, drug test and last is complete physical exam with the doctor. There’s a lot of people in que in physical exam then when the last patient was done and I’m the when who’s next to her the doctor declared a lunch break, but it’s okay because I’m hungry and it’s 12 noon already.
This is my lunch there’s a bon chon beside the clinic, it’s been a while since I dine in and eat at bon chon I enjoyed the food maybe because I’m so hungry that time. Haha.
I already pass all the requirements, from pre-employment medical exam to background investigation form and of course the signing of contract I’m done all of those. Right now I’m just waiting for update, they told me that if ever I pass the medical and background investigation I can start on Monday November 15. I hope and pray that everything is good.
I’ve been a jobless since pandemic, and the last time that I work was at a BPO company as a quality assurance last 2019. After that I didn’t work anymore because there’s a lot of problems that I’ve been dealing with specially my mental health. Last September 2019 my mother died because of cancer, it’s really hard when you lose someone whose so important to you and love you the most my mother is one of my foundations in my life that’s why when she died, I feel like I lost half of my life. Then, two months after my mother died, I lost my job, I decided to leave the company because it was so toxic and I'm still mourning, then after a month I found out that my girlfriend cheated on me. From my family, career, and love life I was lost, that’s why I got depress. I’ve been crying every night sometimes I can’t even sleep. But thanks God I was able to surpass that kind of loneliness. I can say that I’m much better now than last year. Right now I’m starting to get back my confidence again and I’m excited to finally work again after 2 years, I miss listening to calls of agent doing audits and evaluations.
New member of the family
I've been thinking about what article or blog I can share with you guy's, actually I have a lot I'm just inactive here sometimes. Well, you can observe that because it took me more than a week to write an article or blog here at read.cash.
Most of the time I’m always at home, I only go outside when I go to market to buy food and other essential goods. The last time I went out of the house was when I got my second dose of covid 19 vaccine and I had my “ME TIME” I also share that in my last article.
Last week I go to Cavite to visit my sister and to return her laptop I’m using her laptop for the past few months but now she told me that she needed it because she’s going to attend some webinar. She has her own desktop but she’s using it on her work that’s why she really need the laptop.
I took an fx PUV going to megamall I know that the fair is only 25 pesos but the dispatcher told me it’s 30 pesos, so I did not argue when he gives me 20 pesos change. When I’m on my way to megamall I thought it’s gonna rain because the weather is cloudy, luckily it didn’t rain. From megamall walked going to MRT Ortigas Station to ride a bus going to PITX
On my way to PITX I think a lot of things feels like I’m on a music video like having a ride going somewhere and just looking at the window hahaha. It’s late afternoon and I took some pictures while I’m in the bus almost sunset already. When the bus is already at MOA I’m confused if I already paid my fair or not then I realized no one is paying and there’s no conductor to ask for the fair only to realized that the bus I ride on is a Point to Point bus provided by the government to all the citizen going to PITX and EDSA North Ave and it’s a free ride “Libreng Sakay” that’s what I saw on the banner in front of the bus when I’m at PITX.
From PITX I need to ride again another bus going to Naic, it’s already rush hour so there’s a lot of people in terminal during that time and the que for bus going to Naic is so long it took me almost an hour before I was able to ride a bus, I choose the seat in the bus because I want to see the sunset on my to Gahak were I would take off the bus and ride another tricycle going to my sister’s subdivision where she lived, unfortunately while I’m on Cavitex can’t barely see the sunset because it’s almost 6 in the evening and it’s cloudy during that time so I didn’t captured the sunset (I’m a little bit disappointed that time because I really want to see the sunset though)
During dinner time I open up my plans to my ate, I told her that if I got a job whether it’s a work from home or onsite job I’m going to leave here in Pasig where I currently living with my other sister and her daughter (my niece). I don’t usually share my plans to any of my family member, only @Yen my slightly bff knows about my plans that I want to leave here and go back home in our house in province because I just want to live a simple and peaceful life.
I’m a night person and usually my earliest sleep is around 2am and the late is 4am sometimes almost 5 when I’m having anxiety, but when I’m at my sister’s house I was able to sleep as early as 11 pm maybe because I’m so exhausted of my travel going to cavite that’s why am able to sleep early.
It’s been a long time since I had dreamed about my mom (my mother died 2years ago because of cancer) then I dream about her in my dream she told me “di ika mag galin” (that’s our dialect) in English she told me “DON’T LEAVE”. Maybe that’s a message that I should not leave here.
On the other after my Ate is done with her work, we visited my other sister who’s also leaving in Cavite. My sisters just gave birth via cesarian section to her first son earlier this month and that was the first time that I saw my 3rd nephew in our family. Baby Mig short for Miguel is so cute and charming little baby, when I talked to him he keep on rolling his eyes seems like his listening to me and when I took him a picture he was able to look at the camera (don’t worry the flash light is off when I took a picture of him)
Then after we visited them my Ate and I part ways I ride a bus going to PITX, then from PITX I ride again another P2P bus going to Ortigas, luckily I was able to ride again the Libreng Sakay bus. From Ortigas Station I go to megamall I wanted to visit the Atrium where I used to pray and attend mass but unfortunately it’s closed maybe because it’s already late pass 7pm or it’s closed because of the pandemic. I spend some time in Mega walked around then I go to J.Co because I saw on tiktok that they give two free donuts if you are fully vaccinated you just need to provide your vaccination card and you need to buy medium size drinks. So, I as a coffee lover I bought hot coffee I spent my “Me Time” there, most of the people there is with their friends and partner (jowa) and me I’m alone and I don’t care, I can eat, watch movie alone and I enjoy my own company.
I've got a free two donuts from j.co everyone can avail this if you are fully vaccinated.
"me time"
It’s been a while since I write again here at read.cash so I want to share what I did last weekend. I go to Ayala last Saturday to get my 2nd dose of moderna vaccine for covid, actually my 2nd dose was reschedule because I was exposed with covid positive and as a protocol from DOH and WHO I need to do self-quarantine for 14 days thanks God that during my quarantine I did not experience any symptoms of covid. Anyway, back on what I’m trying to share with you while I was in Ayala I remember a lot of beautiful memories specially when I'm still working there.
I used to work in Ayala, and Makati Central Business District was one of my goal in looking for a job way back then. My second job was in Level up by Playweb Games where I met my slightly bff @Yen we are both TMA and from that we were promoted as Sales Executive even though we work in field I enjoy working in that company we go to office once a week to have a meeting with our boss. After working in Level up, I work in a BPO company were my ex- partner used to work there too and I work there for more than 5 years.
After my second vaccine I take an errands around ayala avenue and ayala triangle I’m looking for a coffee shop because I want to have a “ME” time and relax for a while and I don’t want to go home early unfortunately the Starbucks that I saw in ayala ave in front of Makati stock exchange is close then I go to ayala triangle because this is kind of a green park inside of busy city. I go for a walk and take a sit for a while, I look for a coffee shop again because jen told me there’s a coffee bean in ayala triangle but there’s no available café and restaurant there I asked one of the security guard and he told me that all the restaurants and café in that placed were already closed during locked down last year. Covid pandemic really affect everyone not only people but businesses too, before pandemic there is a lot of restaurants and cafe in ayala triangle but now it's all closed.
I'm a little bit hungry and it's past 3p.m I just decided to ride an fx going back to pasig, while on my way I suddenly thought of having a haircut because my hair is already long and I don’t like my hair anymore because of my forehead, so I go to my favorite barber shop located at Robinson’s in Kapasigan El Guapo is the name of the shop and the haircut if 120pesos I’ve waited for almost an hour because there’s only 2 barbers available and they have some other customers who came ahead of me. My sister told me that there’s a coffee shop on the second floor in the building beside the community fitness where she used to have a yoga class before.
After my haircut I visit the café the name of the coffee shop is Yani cafe and I like the ambiance I look for the menu and their coffee and it’s affordable so I ordered a café mocha and chocolate banana pudding my bill is only 150 pesos it’s so affordable right compare to other coffee shop that so expensive.
This is the coffee and pudding that I ordered, looks good and delicious doesn’t even look cheap.
I will definitely go back to this café, I love the ambiance and coffee maybe next time I’ll try their pasta and other menu.
I miss doing this kind of “me time” eat alone in a restaurant or fast food chain, do a window shopping alone, watched movie all by myself. I remember before covid19 pandemic when everything is normal and I still have job I always go to megamall and when I'm done everything that I need to do like going to mega atrium to attend a mass and pray then buying some stuff or watching movie, I usually spend the rest of my time in a coffee shop all by myself. I'll go home if the mall is about to closed.
After my coffee I go to Andoks to buy food because we don’t have dinner at home I decided to buy pork chop then I go home.
Register and Vote
Why it is important to vote and why many Filipinos are struggling to register to be a voter. This article is all about my experience on how I got reactivate and transferred my voter’s registration. As we all know election is coming and it will be on May 2022 next year. I was once a voter, but unfortunately I did not vote for almost a decade. My last vote was the national election last 2010 and I go all the way to province (Bicol) just to vote, during that time I’m already living in Pasig for 3 years but I was registered in Camarines Sur that’s why I need to go home just to vote. I remember the struggle going home during that time, from Cubao were looking for a bus going to Bicol and there’s a lot of passenger that time, we waited 8 in the evening but we’re able to ride a bus 7 in the morning the following day. This was happened 10 years ago. I'm not a registered voter for the past few years or should I say for almost a decade.
Now I decided to be one of the people who are looking for a change in government that’s why I go to comelec to reactivate and transfer my voter’s registration. Comelec give the entire Filipino citizen to register since 2019 but as you may know there is a “Filipino time” that most of the Filipino will registered when the deadline is near and I have to say I’m one of them. Hahaha
Last June I go to comelec to register but the guard on duty told me that the registration is only available every morning they start at 7a.m they don’t accept any transaction in the afternoon unless if you are PWD, Senior Citizen or a pregnant woman. I’m a night person and it’s so hard for me to wake up as early as 7a.m that’s I did not come back last June. Last month I try to go to comelec and register but they only allowed first 200, unfortunately I did not reach the first 200 even though I always to there as early as 6 a.m. still I didn’t get the number, the I tried again as early as 5a.m I go there but still didn’t get a number for the first 200.
I was so frustrated and don’t want to get registered anymore because I’ve been trying to fall in line as early as 5 in the morning for almost one week and still not able to reach the quota which is the first 200, I even ask my friend Jen if I’m still going to register then she said “no” it’s okay if I don’t vote in the next election because there are also a lot of people who’s not a register voters.
One day I’m watching videos at tik tok, then I saw the post of Maris Racal (she’s an actress/singer her in the Philippines) a quick video about her journey in voters registration. She was able to register in comelec as early as 2a.m she’s already in queue and there are a lot of people trying to fall in line just to register, then I realized if she was able to do it to register and fall in line as early as 2a.m then I can also do that.
Picture above is the registration site, I was there as early as 12 midnight but the people are already in queue.
I got registered last week it took me 8 hours just to get a number so that I have a slot to registered, and 2 hours to for profiling and biometrics.
It’s so exhausting and I don’t have enough sleep during that time but it’s worth it because I get another chance to change the system and make better choices for a better tomorrow for the Philippines.
I don’t know who I’m going to vote for yet, I’m still waiting for everyone to announce their candidacies and more importantly their platforms. I really hope we stray away from personality politics and based our decisions on track records and what flat form each candidate is running on. Think of it as a job interview, what would you ask the candidate, what prior experience would you look for? What background checks would you do, what would convince you? Which references would you check?
At the end of the day, your vote should reflect what you want for yourself, your community and your country, it’s a personal decision with implications. To anyone of you who's not yet a register voters you can still register because it is extended until end of October.
I also want to share this experience in getting a national I. D. of course long queue is always there when it's come to government applications. It took me almost 5 hours just get be registered in national I.d
After 3 months their gonna send the national I.d to me I hope I'll get it within 3 months. Unlike voters I. D it took me years to get my I. D.
I'm at the Happiest place on earth. Disneyland
Dreams do come true as they say; well for me yes you just have to work on it. As a kid we always dream and watch fairy tales like Cinderella, Snow White, Beauty and the Beast and other Disney characters and many more. I remember during my primary school my mom bought us books about Disney Princess and she will read that book for us like story telling before we go to sleep. I loved the story of Cinderella and Snow white and the seven dwarfs. The story that I’m going to share with you is my travel and experience when I visit Hong Kong Disneyland. As I said on my last article that I went to Hong Kong last February 2018 to celebrate my birthday when I think about Hong Kong the first thing that comes to my mind is Disneyland. It’s like fulfilling my childhood dream as Walt Disney said “If you can dream it, you can do it”. But of course, travelling to Hong Kong is not about Disneyland I also went to other places like Central, Harbor Place and Tsim Tsa Chu.
When I first came to Hong Kong I was amazed because the Airport is huge and modern, when the plane drop off we need to ride a train to go to immigration and riding the train is free, can you imagine there’s a train station inside the airport, there’s no such thing like that in the Philippines. After passing the Hong Kong Immigration I look around at the waiting area and bought sim card so that I have data connection and of course to contact my ex-girlfriend and my friends who’s working in Hong Kong as a ofw. I also bought octopus card, so that I can ride a MTR (train) octopos card is so useful you can used it in riding train, bus, ferry, even buying food in convenient store and other fast food.
This is the octopus card and airport express lane ticket from airport going to City, airport express lane ticket is so expensive it cost more than 20$ .
My first stop is in Central that place is the Business District in Hong Kong. I enjoy there, the park, sea-side, ferry stations. I was so amazed because it’s really beautiful and clean city the transportation is good there’s no traffic compare to Metro Manila. It’s Chinese New Year when I go to Hong Kong, for me it’s a good thing because I was able to understand their culture.
From Central we ride a ferry going to other City Tsim Sha Tsui then we go to Harbor City, and stroll around.
My hotel accommodation is too far from the City it took me 15-20 minutes in MTR and 10 minutes in mini bus from MTR going to Hostel, but it’s okay because the train is fast, there’s no traffic and I love the view while travelling. This is the way and view going to my hostel, seaside and park. The hostel that I booked was old building (I don’t know that it was old, the pictures in website was good, maybe that’s the expectation vs. reality) I only booked a bed space we’re 8 person in one room all female, I’m just staying there to sleep and shower so for me it’s okay to rent a bed space and I’m just stay there for 3 days and 2 nights.
Finally my childhood dream came true, I saved a lot of money for this travel and I really want to enjoy and have fun while were in Disneyland and yes I enjoyed a lot. In the entrance when you give your ticket they will give you pass and a free chocolate, at first I’m wondering why there’s a free chocolate then I realized that chocolate has caffeine which will boost energy levels, at first I don’t want to eat it I want to save it as a remembrance but I got hungry so I just ate the chocolate. Haha
The first attraction park that we go in was the Iron Man experience, I’m a Marvel fan and I really love Iron Man so when saw the Iron Man experience I go right away and fall into queue. Iron man experience is like an iMax and your chair is moving feels like you’re really into Iron Man suit, I like that kind of ride compare to roller coaster I don’t think I can manage that. Haha.
The second park that we experience was in Toy Story Land, it’s like we’re drop off from the parachute, the rest was we just stroll around and enjoy all the different theme park inside Disneyland.
Unfortunately were not able to ride all the rides because of long queue there’s lot of people because its weekend and aside from that it’s Chinese New Year so there’s a lot of tourist.
We are able to watch the Parade of Fantasy were you will see all the Disney Characters and Movies, the entire time of the parade I’m just smiling I felt like I’m a kid again because I’m at the happiest place on Earth Disneyland.
I was able to take pictures with other Disney character specially Mickey Mouse.
I don’t even feel tired during the entire tour maybe because I’m just enjoying and I’m so happy, but imagine walking the day in a very huge park it’s so tiring right, well my feet got numb when I was in the hostel.
I‘m thankful and grateful that I was able to experience and fulfill my childhood dream, If given a chance I want to go to Disneyland again maybe not now because of Pandemic but we don’t know maybe few years from now I can go there again with my family and friends.
First time riding an airplane
On my last article I told you guy’s that I’m going to share with you my experience on riding a plane for the first time. But before I start I want you to know that I did this before because I want to and this is one of my dreams during childhood.
The first time I go to airport Ninoy Aquino International Airport was I think way back 2016 or 2015, it’s because we are going to pick up my aunt at the arrival area she came from Singapore because she’s an OFW. During that time I’m with my mom, my sister and her boyfriend because her boyfriend had a car. I’m so happy during that time because finally my aunt is already staying for good and aside from that I already go to airport for the first time.
My first ever travel outside the country and my first time riding a plane was last February 2018 I go to Hong Kong to celebrate my birthday and also to finally meet my partner during that time (my ex-partner was an overseas Filipino worker working in Hong Kong).
I remember the feelings, nervous, excitement, going to airport that time my flight was 5am so, I need to go to airport as early as 3am good thing my sister accompany me going to airport and assist me everything that I need to do like checking in, getting my boarding pass, and paying the travel tax. Can you imagine guy’s I’m walking around the check in area and my sister was on the 2nd floor and just watching all my moves, by the way were talking on the phone during that time to assist me better.
When I got my boarding pass I go to money changer to exchange my pocket money. Then when everything is settled and fill-up all the form I fall in line to immigration this time I’m so nervous because I know there’s a lot of question from immigration officer before I go to boarding they ask a lot of questions specially if you’re a first time and solo traveller, good thing is I already research for the possible questions and what should I answer to immigration officer so that I won’t be offloaded. (And I don’t want to be offload because I don’t want to lose my plane ticket and hotel accommodation)
The questions of immigration officer were.
1. Why are you going there?
2. For how many days you will stay there.
3. Where are you going to stay, when will you come back to Philippines.
4. Do you know someone there?
5. What is your work here (this is to make sure that your still going back in your home country)
6. Where are you going there/ (I said I’m going to Hong Kong Disney Land because that was my dream since I was a kid)
7. And they also ask who bought my plane ticket and hotel accommodation.
The immigration officer ask a lot of questions but this is the only questions that I remember, I also have leave form, certificate of employment and company I.D this is to prove that I’m able to afford my travel and I have a plan going back to the Philippines because I have a regular job. Finally immigration officer stamps my passport, I’m so happy that I pass the immigration and that’s the sign that I’m really going to ride a plane and go to Hong Kong.
Finally I’m inside the plane and its window seat, I’m so lucky to have that window seat. During takeoff I was so nervous I was praying actually because I’m afraid, you first time hahah but I’m still staring at the window watching the plane go up and looking down to watch buildings and houses.
This is the only picture that I saved on my social media account because the phone that I used before was not on me anymore.
I like this because the sunrise and clouds collide during that time, and I was amaze. I feel like I was in heaven.
The second time that I ride a plane was when I and my ex-partner go home to our province in Bicol. I booked a plane ticket in cebu pac last February 2019. My partner requested to ride a plane going home because she doesn’t want to ride a bus going to province because it will take us 12-14 hrs. And she just came back from Hong Kong that’s why I decided to bought a ticket.
This was the view on our way to Bicol region as you may see the Mayon Volcano was captured in the picture.
And the last time that I ride a plane was November 2019 were I visit my ex-partner again in Hong Kong. I’m so lucky to have a window seat for the second time. The view was amazing because it was Sunny so lucky to capture this moment.
For me riding a plane was also a dream come true, I remember when I was a kid every time I saw a plane in the Sky I will wave my hand with a smile on my face then I’m going to tell myself someday you’re going to ride a plane, and yes finally I was able to fulfill one of my dreams as a kid.
I was able to afford all my travel before because I’m still working during that time, but now I’m unemployed because of Pandemic, but I’m looking for a job right now hoping that I’m going to have a work again because I miss working in a corporate world.
Soon I'm going to share my Disney Land and Ocean Park adventure.
I'm worried because my sister have a symptoms of covid, I told her to do a swab test but based on research you need to undergo swab test after 4 days of symptoms, but today is her 1 first day so we need to wait for another 3 days before she got a swab test.
I hope that she'll be fine along the way, coz if she'll be positive, me and my niece were already exposed to her. I can't stop thinking and i felt like I'm having anxiety attack again. I hope this Cocid will end soon and we all back to normal life.
Stay safe and healthy everyone.
Miah (my sweet furbaby)
Hi guy’s I’m just new here, well actually I don’t know how to start because this is my first time doing this and I’m not that kind of a writer.😅 Anyway my name is “Kai” that’s my nickname, but most of my friends especially on SocMed call me “Thart”. One of my good friend slightly bff @Yen told me about this platform. I want to share with you my happy pill 😊 especially during this pandemic her name is Miah she’s a cat and for me she’s not just an ordinary cat she’s my companion and stress reliever. Miah is a stray cat it’s her birth month last August but I don’t know her exact birthday all we know from the family is August is her birthday. My niece LM found Miah at the ancestral house of my grandmother in Taguig during that time the kitten is keep on meowing that’s why she caught our attention, seems like the kitten is looking for food and shelter I remember when I first saw Miah in front of the gate. She’s so drenched and freezing in cold and keep on meowing 🐈(so loud) my niece LM ask me right away if we can adopt the kitten coz she’s stray and no one will take care of her I told her yes we can adopt here.
When we go home here Pasig I told my mother that we need to bring Miah to vet for her safety and also for the safety of the family because we all know that cat bite and scratch have rabies called “cat scratch disease. Rabies from cat is dangerous Miah was vaccinated with Anti-Rabies, Miah is also neutered (Kapon) means she’s not going to have a baby. Miah is already 3 years old now that’s 28 years old in human age.
Here she is now, so cute and sweet my furbaby. Miah is so clingy she always want to stay with me when I'm about to sleep.
Every morning she wakes me up by meowing in my face 🤣 and if I did not awake she's going to lick my arms... Miah is a house cat and i take her a bath every other day.
This cat is so choosy when it comes to her food she don't even eat left over foood, she only eat cat food chicken and sometimes fish. Good thing about miah is she was trained to poop 💩 in litter sand.
Based on the research cat lower stress, anxiety and reduce feelings of loneliness. On my experience this is true because every time i feel so alone and sad my cat always stay besides me kiss my hands and feet in that way i know that she's showing her love to me that's why i really love my furbaby she's always there and make me happy..
That's all guy's this is my first ever article hope you enjoyed it.
On my next article I'm gonna share with you my experience about my first time riding on a plane.. Hehe.
