Turns out I'm right, I wasn't able to read Sherlock Holmes Because I ended up accidentally ruining the book. Not a major damage, but a chunk of its pages got off the book when it fell on the floor. It's an old book so obviously the pages are brittle. I could've still read a chapter but I felt bad. So I made lunch instead. As I'm typing this, our meal is being served and I'm standing in the kitchen, sweaty and smelling like veggies!
