I want to share with you this music video by Buena Fe and Silvio Rodríguez named "La Tempestad" (the storm/the squall). https://youtu.be/woMwgawCGBA The song is about a storm that it seems it won't end for a long time, and it is so strong that creates rivers on fields and leave no path to follow. So the peasants are afraid and feeling insecure, until an old man start to walking through the storm, so peasants ask him: "Do you know the path? Maybe you walked through here before? Please tell us all you know." So the old man (that part is sung by Silvio) explain to them he come from a time of plagues and droughts, but he and his people moved forward with their sweat and blood. They did everything to move on no matter what. He don't know the path, he don't know where they are going, he only is moving for his dreams and hopes. He will stop only when he die. Then, he ask to the peasants: "Tell me your dreams. Tell me what faith will you believe. Tell me how sweet your fruits will taste. Tell me you, that will have more time." (I really love this part). The song ends with a phrase saying: the captain looks like the shipwreck, the poet looks like his song, the wheel looks like the road, so get used to the storm. The video shows the Cuban people: the soldiers, the peasants, the kids, the students, the doctors, the policemen, the olders, etc. Some of them are holding in front of the camera something that is important to them: a book of Marti, the book of Don Quixote, a portrait of Che Guevara and Fidel Castro, an old map of Cuba, and some shows their hands holding nothing. So everything represents the history of Cuban people, how we must keep fighting and moving forward for what we want in a future, no matter if we are living hard times, the best if to get used to it, because maybe harder times will come next. (Haha, first time I do a review of a song, but I like it a lot. I hope you guys enjoy it.) 😅
