Proverbs and thought (Popular wisdom) "The glazier drinks in a cracked glass." Iranian proverb This proverb is similar to the saying of the blacksmith who has a wooden knife in his house. It is interesting how these expressions are used to indicate that people are given to the external and not the internal. It seems to be a lack of congruence that attempts against itself in such a sense. Perhaps, the eagerness to have is the cause, therefore one forgets to take care of oneself. To serve others you must first serve yourself. Otherwise, you will end up serving no one. It is not about selfishness. It's about being better to be of service to all who need you.
