Self-love simply means loving yourself. It is a state of appreciation for oneself that builds from actions that helps our psychological, physical and spiritual growth. Self-love means valuing yourself and not sacrificing your well-being to please others. Self-love means having a high regard for your own well-being and happiness. Did you know that you’re very special? You deserve to feel loved not only by people around you, but by YOU. “You have to love yourself more.” “You can’t love another person until you love yourself first.” Self-love is important to living well. Lately we are faced with several challenges which make it challenging for some of us to practice self-love. But you just need to get in touch with yourself, your well-being, and happiness. We practice self-love so that we can push through limited beliefs, accept much better our weaknesses as well as our strengths, and have a life that truly shines.

Ways to Practice Self-love

Self-care: Practice self-care. You will love yourself when you take better care of your needs like eating healthy, intimacy, proper sleep, exercise, and social interactions.

Be Mindful: You need to be mindful of who you are. Know how you think, feel, and want. Know yourself. Live your life in ways that truly reflect this.

Protect yourself: Surround yourself with people who love and encourage you. Get rid of people who take pleasure in your pain and loss rather than your happiness and success. End toxic relationship.

Prioritize yourself: There is no one on this planet like you, so stop comparing yourself to someone else. Know that you are way important and special. Embrace the thing that makes you different.

•Learn not to compromise yourself. Learn to say NO. Saying NO sometimes doesn’t make you a bad person. It means you are smart.

Forgive yourself: There are people that let what they did in the past, make them feel bad or hate themselves. Don’t be too hard on yourself. You can’t change the thing you’ve done in the past but you can learn from them and believe in your ability to change. It’s time to let the past go and move on.

These are few ways you can practice self-love. Try working on some of the actions stated above, it will help you begin to accept and love yourself more.
