Forgive and forget. Is it really possible?
Forgiving does not always mean you instantly or ever trust someone again. Forgiveness and trust are separate issues. Forgiveness is not about condoning or tolerating someone's behavior again who has wronged you in the past. When you forgive someone, it's either you keep that person in your life again or just cut ties. The first one is mostly applicable to the relationship of your family. If a family member has broken your trust, it's gonna take some time to rebuild that trust.
More importantly, forgiveness is not about the person who wronged you instead you do it for yourself. To set yourself free from the heartaches and stress. How to forgive? **1. Forgive yourself** You may ask yourself, why did I trust him/her? How could I've been so naive? I'm such a stupid person. Well, it's time to realize that this is your chance to strengthen your soul. **2. Forgive the person**. I know, this is easier said than done. But you have to be willing to do it. There should be willingness and there should be a way. Personally, someone has wronged me for something intolerable. But I realized that I should free myself from stress and resentment, and so I forgave that person but the relationship established will never be the same again. As Nelson Mandela said "***Resentment is like drinking a poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies***". Your thoughts?

I can forgive but I cant forget π I still remember those past events but it didnt hurt me now.
Me either. Kayabko syang patawarin pero hinding hindi ko malilimutan mga ginawa nya sakin. π
Oo ganon. Pero wala na yung ibang pakiramdam sa twing maaalala mo. Parang part nalang talaga ng past mo ganon.
Right. Part of history na lang sya. π
For me, forgiving means forgetting about how the other person wrong or disappointed you. But soemtimes it's also hard to do π
Good point though but like you said, it's hard to rebuild that trust again.
I can forgive the person but I can't forgive my self for trusting that person too much.
Naaah, don't be too hard on yourself. We all commit mistakes and we can't change it since it's in the past already. What's important is you learn from it and follow your gut feel π
If a person is not willing to ask for forgiveness for the offense or mistreatment that he caused me, I should not tell him that I forgive him, because that person will repeat it again. I can forgive myself if I am the cause of the offense.
Hmmm, it's a passive aggressive behavior. But I respect your personal opinion to this. Thank youuu βΊοΈ
