Forgive and forget. Is it really possible?

Forgiving does not always mean you instantly or ever trust someone again. Forgiveness and trust are separate issues. Forgiveness is not about condoning or tolerating someone's behavior again who has wronged you in the past. When you forgive someone, it's either you keep that person in your life again or just cut ties. The first one is mostly applicable to the relationship of your family. If a family member has broken your trust, it's gonna take some time to rebuild that trust.

More importantly, forgiveness is not about the person who wronged you instead you do it for yourself. To set yourself free from the heartaches and stress. How to forgive? **1. Forgive yourself** You may ask yourself, why did I trust him/her? How could I've been so naive? I'm such a stupid person. Well, it's time to realize that this is your chance to strengthen your soul. **2. Forgive the person**. I know, this is easier said than done. But you have to be willing to do it. There should be willingness and there should be a way. Personally, someone has wronged me for something intolerable. But I realized that I should free myself from stress and resentment, and so I forgave that person but the relationship established will never be the same again. As Nelson Mandela said "***Resentment is like drinking a poison and then hoping it will kill your enemies***". Your thoughts?
