Understanding the Self Series (Part 1)

Question: Are you beautiful? Why or why not? I am beautiful because I feel like I am beautiful. I act confident and I'm proud of my appearance and it is enough for me to feel beautiful. I'm beautiful in my own way. Everybody is born uniquely and I think that's what made us particularly varying from each other. Beauty is not solely on the physical attributes of a person. Notwithstanding the fact, beauty is the overall being of someone. Remember, heart is the window to our soul. God has made everything beautiful! I am a human created by my God, has maintained the natural order of man and that is to be naturally good. I have my heart and I use my mind well and good! Yes! I am beautiful! Yes, I am beautiful and will always be beautiful. My eyes, my nose, my lips, my body are all beautiful and that also includes my heart. Why? Simply because, I accept and admire what God had given me and knowing my worth as a woman made me let go of my insecurities and taught me how to love myself including my imperfections that made everything about me, prettier. Indeed, definitions of beauty is diverse. That is undeniable. It varies from one person to another. Something that is common about our defintions is that all of us say that we are beautiful and handsome based on our own and distinct standards. I believe that how someone perceives his or her physical self has a huge impact on their way of life. I believe that it's always the way how you look at yourself that matters. We see ourselves as beautiful, and that is what matters. I believe that we should all be confident with what we look like. We should not be intimidated and insecure about what other people may tell us. I uphold the belief of Confucius that "Everything has beauty, but not everyone sees it." I believe that beauty is defined by the one who is defining it. In fact, it has no specific and common definition. Well, something is beautiful for me when its impact reaches my heart. As time goes on, I have learned to appreciate everything. I think that everything is really beautiful. What's more interesting about this is the process of looking for beauty in everything. If you feel that you are not beautiful, well, you are not feeling well. We are all beautiful. That is a fact.
