Infernal fire. REAL situation in my country. Aug 9, 2022. No. 290 On Friday, August 5, 2022, due to an electrical storm, lightning struck the fuel depot base in the province of Matanzas in Cuba.
In the place, there were 8 tanks for the storage of oil. The fire immediately started after a huge explosion that surprised everyone. The first tank had blown its cover and the fire began to devour the place.
The air began to do its thing and from 360 degrees to where it could go, it began to blow in the direction of the tank that was next to it.
The firefighters arrived at the scene as quickly as possible to try to control the situation, which was obviously almost impossible. Still, their strength and desire to control it were greater. Dozens of injured and some 14 people are still missing, firefighters who were lost in the fire, have only been able to find one.
Then, started the race to try to make the second tank cold so that it wouldn't collapse, but it was impossible. Due to the intense infernal heat, the tank caught fire and exploded, making the situation even more difficult than it already was. Many countries offered their solidarity and Mexico along with Venezuela was the first to arrive with specialists and chemicals to try to stop the hell that has been unleashed.
Still, it's not enough, a 3rd tank caught fire and there seems to be no end to this situation.
The anguish and the repercussion for the environment are greater at every moment. An immense cloud of smoke rises and the air is responsible for making it reach many kilometers away towards neighboring provinces.
They work intensely to put out the fire and we are all attentive to what may happen minute by minute. Many brave men put their lives at stake at every moment to try to find solutions to this misfortune that my country is experiencing. We'll get through it, we always have. These are difficult times, but I am sure that we will win and overcome everything.

That's absolutely horrible! It can easily cause an environmental catastrophe. I hope Cuba gets help from more countries to put out the fire.
I feel very sad.It is a tragic incident.I hope everything will be fine soon.Actually few months ago in my country (Bangladesh) More than 70 people were killed in the fire and explosion at the BM Container Depot in Sitakunda, Chittagong.It was also a tragic incident. We are dealing with too much right now. The last year's have been brutal and we see things like never before(airplane crash, tornado, the explosion of the hotel, massive protests, and now this) Unfortunately, it's part of our new reality, we need to learn to face it and carry on. My condolences to all the people that lose someone.

Estos últimos días han sido muy tensos para todos, principalmente para quienes han estado en la primera línea de combate. Yo que vivo en esa provincia puedo dar fe de todo el esfuerzo y empeño por parte del cuerpo de bomberos y otras instituciones. Vi personas llorar, temblar de miedo, sufrir por los suyos y por todos en general. Ha sido muy triste... Pero también vi primar la solidaridad no solo de los cubanos de toda la isla, de los de afuera, sino de países amigos que brindaron su mano y gracias a los cuales todo el panorama ha cambiado para bien. #FuerzaMatanzas, #FuerzaCuba.
