Maybe an unpopular opinion. IP-1559 was supposed to make Ethereum deflationary and reduce gas fees. Ok, so... Burning Eth to make it deflationary? Checked. Reduce Gas fees? Yeah about that... The eth base fee in the upgraded protocol is now calculated depending on the congestion of the network and because nothing has yet solved the congestion problem, we can still see huge fees. And yes l, there are plenty of other things that we can use to bypass this, but that doesn't make the problem go away. Unless they solve the congestion, we will still have to deal with high fees.
