My Learnings and Realization through my Bachelor's Degree Hello everyone! I'm back again. Sorry for not in contact for almost three months I think. And now I'm back. For update, I already graduated last August 12 and I am going to share my successful story here soon. For now, let me share the things I've learned and realized in my studies. Hope you learn something. Enjoy reading! The goal of education is to teach children knowledge and skills that will help them succeed in the real world. To produce students with strong problem-solving skills and to develop a real-world learning environment where students may use their acquired knowledge and abilities to address pressing issues and produce insightful answers. So as a beginning teacher, it is my role to teach and nurture the youth. Hone them to be better people that will survive and strive in their future. It is my role to transmit wisdom and knowledge. Because I believe that the youth can make a bigger change. As a culture and arts educator, it is my role to instill knowledge and appreciation of our culture and the arts as it will develop specific skills and competencies that are essential in their future endeavor. For me, it is also important that our youth are knowledgeable and aware of our culture. Because I believe that it will develop values and appreciation for our culture which is something missing right now. One is to integrate culture and the arts in the lesson and in the classroom and provide students a perspective that will give an impact on their learning experiences. I should be an expert in my field because this will help me teach students efficiently, and influence their educational experiences. It is also giving assurance and trust that the students can learn something from me. I believe that one factor as well in teaching the students effectively is building a relationship. Know my students very well their strengths and weakness so that I can determine appropriate competencies to be targeted. Furthermore, encourage students to be conscious and have critical thinking and reasoning. Used more collaborative activities as this will help them develop confidence, communication skills, adaptability, and more. When it comes to the classroom environment, it is vital to establish a classroom that is conducive to learning because this is one of the factors that aids students in understanding the lesson and learning it. As well as create a friendly and positive environment that allows the learner to express their oneself and motivate them to learn and explore things. Students should also be urged to participate completely and express their thoughts openly. Although there is a variety of learning styles among students, as a teacher, being knowledgeable about these styles can still guide and motivate the learners to advance in their education. Every student has specific needs, which teachers may successfully satisfy. In light of this, as a teacher, you should consider the individual preferences, learning styles, and distinctions among your students. To sum it up, as a novice teacher, my goal is to teach according to the needs of the learners. Learn the information, skills, and abilities required for success in the real world. And foster values and enthusiasm for culture and the arts.

Face-to-face Teaching Internship in the Midst of Pandemic Face-to-face internship is the traditional way of deploying the students for on-the-job training. Because of covid 19, schools implement flexible learning to adjust in the new normal setting. It is 2 years since the pandemic started and many citizens are vaccinated. So, schools are now re-opening for face-to-face classes for places with low threats of covid 19. Luckily, in our region, most schools are now open and accepted practice teachers for their schools that’s why, we student teachers got the chance to be deployed in nearby schools and to have a face-to-face teaching internship. I am happy that I was deployed in my former school during senior high school. We are deployed specifically in the Arts and Design Department which is correlate to our degree program. On the first day of our internship, the school warmly welcomed us in their school and have a mini tour in their department. I have nostalgia while walking by the building where our old room was. The school is far different during my school years, it was more developed and equipped. On the first day, we meet with our cooperating teacher and she was very kind. She also shares her experiences when she was applying in DepEd and I really feel amazed by her perseverance and determination. As she said, she took the licensure examination for teachers thrice, and her degree course during college is Development Communication which is far from education. I realized here that there are things that comes in your life unplanned in the first place but God has His plan for you. My cooperating teacher is a visual artist and it is really need in the arts and design department. So, as a culture and arts education student, I wondered what specific skills do I have or my strength do I have. I know how to draw but not excellently, I know how to dance but not that good, I know how to act but not that well. And during this time, I think that I should choose one specific skill where I will develop and practice more and more for it to become my strength. What I observe also is the teachers there are really competitive, smart and skilled. They possessed professionalism in their field. And as an intern, I look up to them with high respect and adoration. And promised myself to not disappoint them since they expect that we, the intern is smart and skilled in our chosen program. In the first four days of my internship, I feel pressured and at the same time feeling delighted as well for it is happening to me now, like I am taking the second step of becoming a teacher.

Agaton- Who Leave my Hometown Devastated and Took Many Lives I thought these incidents could only be seen on the news, but I didn't expect them to occur in one of the locales where we were. It's heartbreaking to know how many lives were lost. Hello everyone! It’s been a long time since I posted an article here. I am busy and focused on my face-to-face internship last week. And by the way, I will gonna post an article about the first week of my f2f internship. But for now, this article is about the tropical storm Agaton which leave my hometown devastated and took many lives. This is the first time that I’ve experienced this such calamity, even though we always hit by typhoon but not in this situation. I thought that my hometown is safe to this kind of calamity because ever since I was born, there is less impact or result when there is a typhoon. I never expect that this will happened to my hometown. Despite the fact that we were hit by the strong typhoons such as Yolanda and Odette, but no lives were lost and less property was damaged during those times in my hometown. April 11, 2022 at 4 pm, the tropical storm Agaton landfall and my hometown is in signal number 1 then 2, meaning minimal to a minor threat to life and property. But the rain started pouring on April 5 nonstop until weekends. Which led to flooding on April 10 in many places of my hometown. In our place, the flood is at knee level, wherein in some places, it is above knee level. As for me, I'm not concerned about things like floods, landslides, or storm surges because the wind isn't very strong, our location isn't known for flooding, and there haven't been any landslides in prior storms, so I believe we'll be fine. But you know, expect the unexpected things that will happen. The water gradually rises and rivers overflow that’s why the flood is high in some places. That is when the time that I realize that this is not usual anymore. On April 10 at night, a landslide in one barangay in my hometown happened where many people died. When I hear the news, I immediately contact my classmate who resides in that barangay temporarily since she was assigned there for the internship. I am glad that she was safe and far from the incident. On the morning, of April 11, another landslide happened in another barangay in which 80-90 % was covered by a landslide. And other barangays have landslides as well and there are deaths also. In my neighboring hometown, there is a huge landslide happened where it took many lives as well. (For more information, please do search it on a reliable website because I don’t want to elaborate on more information cause I’m not that very knowledgeable of the situation) It is very heartbreaking scrolling through my social media all the sorrow of the survivors and the family who lost their loved ones. I am very thankful and lucky that it didn’t happen to me and my family, relatives, and friends. My hometown indeed needed help and support from the government and from anyone who has a good heart and is willing to help and donate. The evacuees need food, water, medicine, clothes, and the fact that they don’t have a home anymore. I also want to share my rant here about the fact that many Filipinos are unaware of the situation that we are facing right now. I don’t know if I am safe to say that there is no wide media coverage of what happening to us, even on social media platforms. And there are even people who mocked our situation and talk ill about us Bisaya people. I don’t want to say bad things to those people but I can’t help myself but feel annoyed by their actions. I just want to say to those people that what you say will reflect on you. Don’t say things that you didn’t want to happen to you. I do believe in karma, ingon sila ang gaba dili magsaba. So, be aware of your actions. And I am proud of being a Bisaya because we don't blame the disaster on the government but we work together to recover. What I realize and learn from this situation is that always be vigilant, even if there is no sign of danger but we must consider the what-ifs. We never know what will happen next but we can prevent and avoid such situations. Thank you everyone, spread love and positivity!

Weekly Journal #3 of my Internship Hello everyone! I’m here again for another weekly journal of my internship journey. This time, I will going to combine the week 3 and 4 in this article. To the teachers who can read this, I hope you will also give me suggestions and motivations to do better. Enjoy reading everyone! This week marks the beginning of our participation phase, in which we student teachers will take part in the assignment that has been allocated to us by our cooperating teachers. The music of Palawan is the topic I was given to discuss. I'm both excited and apprehensive about my upcoming discussion next week because it will be my first time speaking in front of my students, as I simply record my teaching demonstration and pretended to have students with me during my field study 2. This is now the truth and reality. So, to get over my fear, I familiarized myself with my students. This week, I attended my co-student teachers' teaching discussion to observe students’ behavior and their participation during the activities and discussions. My observation is that when we have a discussion, we should focus on our students' engagement and participation since this will result in more thorough and real learning. Because, when the teacher is the only one who talks, students may become bored and lose interest in listening, as a result of which, when the teacher asks a question, students may be hesitant or unwilling to respond. So, in my upcoming discussion, I will keep in mind that the most essential aspect of my discussion is student engagement, and I will speak less. Because my goal is for students to learn the expected knowledge or information. During my Field study 2, we, FS students are expected to teach even just once. But unfortunately, in my case, I only recorded my discussion. This time, it is my first time holding a discussion to students and I am both excited and nervous. But before our demo teaching, we should first prepare a lesson plan, learning guide, and instructional materials. In these requirements, our cooperating teacher help us on how to properly create it and give some tips and advises. Since, we always open up to that topic that we are not that skillful enough in creating lesson plan and learning guide. I am thankful that he is understanding and willing to help us. Two lessons I need to create a lesson plan, learning guide, and instructional material. The part where I have difficulty the most is creating the objectives and aligning the learning task and assessments. My knowledge about assessments is not that broad and as well as the objectives where remembering is first come in my mind and tend to forget the other domain. However, the feedback and comments of my cooperating teacher helps me a lot in improving my lesson plan and my learning guide. So, during my discussion, the flow is continuous and clear. Additionally, the major comment that he wants me to practice and develop is by using English in my discussion, as this is the medium of instructions in our country. Because during my discussion, I use more often vernacular. Therefore, I practice myself discussing using English word only though it’s difficult for me but I tried. And I am hoping that someday I will be fluent in speaking in English.

2nd Week of My Internship Journey Hello everyone! I am going to share my weekly experience of my teaching internship. And now, this is the second week of my internship. This week is the observation phase, in which student teachers will observe their cooperating teachers as they teach their respective classes. My assumption is that we will only actually observe the teacher and then apply what we learn on our own in the participation phase. But first and foremost, we had an orientation in our cooperating school where I learned a lot. I was also pleased that they provided that orientation since it gave me a sense of belonging to our cooperating school, and I had the opportunity to know every teacher in their school. I'm also grateful that they warmly welcome us to their school and are eager to train us as student teachers to become better and effective teachers. Indeed, the talks of the speakers really stuck in my mind, and I know that it will help me in guiding my teaching internship. There are three things that the speaker wants us to commit during our internship. And that is respect, perform, and enjoy. Now let’s analyze what is the importance of these three aspects in my teaching internship? To begin with, let’s start with respect. Respect time, students, and teachers. And why there is a need to respect the time? Well, we've all heard the saying "time is gold," and we've all heard it a lot of times. However, how will we going to show our respect for time? It is just simple. Like for example, when I am task to submit a lesson plan in this specific time range then I will submit it before the deadline or in advance. Another consideration is the virtual class time schedule; if my session is at 9 a.m., I will be at the virtual classroom ten or fifteen minutes early and prepared. Furthermore, there is a proper time to tap them when it comes to student-teacher consultation or communication. For example, if I have a question for my cooperating teacher, I should be mindful of his time availability and avoid conversing with him during non-working hours, such as at night and on weekends. Moreover, I should respect my students as well in order for students to respect me. But how can students be shown respect? As a teacher, I believe that I should communicate in a relaxed and friendly tone while being formal. Consider the students' situations, respect them as students, and assist them appropriately. Next is respect to teachers. We/I should respect our cooperating teacher and our co-student teachers. To establish a good rapport, I should communicate with them in a formal and friendly manner as well. As my cooperating teacher will be training me to become a better teacher, I should prove to him that I am willing to accept his feedback and evaluation. In addition, I will be courteous to my cooperating teacher and do any tasks he assigns to me. Let us now go on to the second aspect, which is perform, and by perform, we mean excel in every way. When it is time for me to discuss the lesson, I should have read 200 pages ahead of my students. I should be creative in my discussion, particularly in the instructional materials and learning tasks, so that my students actively participate in my discussion. Additionally, I should plan an engaging and participatory classroom discussion. Then , I should excel in creating lesson plans, learning guides, and instructional materials. In this manner, I may train myself to improve my teaching performance. At the same time, the students will be able to study quickly and actively. The last aspect that the speaker wants us to do is enjoy. Everything what happened in my teaching internship should be enjoyed. Even if there will be ups and downs along the journey, the most important thing is that I will enjoy every step of the way. I want this teaching internship to be the most memorable experience of my college life, thus I want to enjoy it. I will always think positively and will not allow bad energy to take over. As for this week, I completed some of the aforementioned aspects, one of which is respect. I determined that I would get up early because my cooperating teacher's class starts at 8 a.m., and my goal was to arrive to the virtual meeting ten minutes early, which I accomplished. Another is respect for pupils and instructors was also achieved. Since we have the opportunity to introduce myself and the pupils, I do so respectfully. I was nervous at first, which was typical. This week has been really enjoyable for me because I have been so productive with my daily agenda. However, I was dissatisfied with my performance when it came to public speaking since I need to rebuild my confidence. And I promised myself that I would practice my topic well so that when the time came for me to teach, I would be able to deliver my lesson effectively. As of now, I can feel the pressure and excitement of this journey, and I will do everything in my power not to fail myself at this time. Also, I will not disappoint my cooperating teacher or my students, and I will ensure that they can learn from me. So far, I can positively say that I am now progressing and determined to be better more.

My Internship Journey (week 1) Hello everyone! This time, I'd want to share about my internship experiences, expectations, and lessons that I've learned so far and will learn in the coming. Our internship started last two weeks and I am now in the third week. When schools were temporarily closed due to the pandemic, I am worried about my future and if I would be able to continue my study. These are only a few of the concerns I made to myself. Fortunately, I enrolled when the schools reopened and implemented flexible learning, even though I'm not sure whether I'll be able to keep up because I don't have the necessary gadgets. However, with those all doubts and what ifs I have, I still continue my study and trust the process. And I am now in the last semester. This is the most eagerly anticipated semester of my collegiate career. It is possible to say that I shall pour all my wisdom and well-being into this term time. Honestly, I have no idea how our teaching internship will be put up in this new typical framework. The pre-deployment orientation gives me insight into what our internship setting would be like. I learned and realized many things that would help and guide me in my internship journey. So, I have list four things that I should possess and keep in mind during in my teaching internship. First on the list is to be conscious. Be conscious to the time, schedule, and tasks that needed to be done. If there are virtual class, I should be prepared ahead of time. Like for example the class schedule is 7:00 in the morning, I should be on the virtual classroom ten minutes early. As a teacher, we should possess this trait which is punctuality to show our students how valuable the time is and how disciplined we are. Most importantly the tasks that assigned to me will be done responsibly. When my cooperating teacher assigned me to make an instructional material, then I will make it responsibly and creatively ahead of time. So that my cooperating teacher will check it in advance, and I can make some changes and preparation with enough time. Another one is conscious of the physical appearance. When in virtual classroom, I should ware the prescribed uniform of the college, and my hair should be clean tied, and ware simple makeup if possible. This is to make a good impact with my student and gain respect. Additionally, I should be focus on the virtual classroom or in my discussion and avoid extra activities so that I can deliver the lesson properly and to be able to answer the questions and queries of my students immediately. Second on the list is to plan the things that should be done in a day. In this way I can manage and use my time properly. Because I don’t like what I have experience during my art apprenticeship last semester where I didn’t manage my time well and the tasks that I needed to be done are not successfully done in the due date. So, the result is the outputs are not satisfying for me since it was made rashly. So, to avoid this scenario, I will plan what output I will be doing in a particular day. Like for example, I will need to make a lesson plan that will be used next week for discussion, I will plan to make it this week Monday and right after making it, I will send it immediately to my cooperating teacher for checking and I have one week to modify and enhance. Next on the list is to study ahead. For me this is the most important thing that I need to do in my teaching internship. As a teacher, we are expected that we are knowledgeable and expert to our chosen major field, and in our discussion, student will ask some questions and we should answer it correctly and reliably. It is shameful that we/I can’t answer the questions of our students. And I don’t want to be in this situation as well. So, if I will do my teaching demonstration, I will study and study and understand the lesson that will be discuss. Last on the list is know what your goal is. I should determine and identify what really is my goal in teaching. Like for example, I will be task to discuss the music in Palawan then I should determine what really is my goal in teaching or discussing this topic to my students. What specific value is intended for them to be realize and what is the importance of this to them as a human being. Additionally, determining what specific skills and traits that needs to be developed. For this to be possible, I should know who my students are. What are their capability and strengths so that my goal is clear and will be effectively useful for the students. Those four key points will help me to be a better student-teacher. Since this is my first time facing students virtually because I haven’t experience it during my field study courses. And in this time, I will take those things seriously in my teaching internship journey. As I state on the first paragraph that I don’t have any idea and my expectation is both positive and negative in this teaching internship journey and this pre-deployment open up more courage for me to fight and excel and put my knowledge and learnings through my college years into action and performance. I realized a lot of things in this week and promised myself that I will do my very best in this teaching internship since it will reflect to me if I will be fit in this profession that I have desired. Those what ifs and doubts has melt away and replaced with courage and determination to be a better and effective student-teacher.

@Iamhasmin

Finally In this new normal setting where schools implemented flexible learning, it was hard for me and all the students out there to attend virtual classes without the necessary technologies that will be used. As for me, it is very hard since I am now in my internship phase which needs a laptop and a stable internet connection. At first, I was hesitant to enroll this semester because of that issue. But at the same time, I don't want to miss the opportunity and I don't want to regret it in the future. Additionally, this is the last semester of college and it will just take three months. So, I continue and trust myself on this that I can do it despite the challenges that may appear on my way. And now I am currently in my first week of internship and I am grateful and happy to the people who supported me. If you're wondering why my title is finally when I hadn't even graduated yet 😆. Well, this finally is I already bought a laptop. Yehey! I still can't believe that I was able to buy my own laptop. Because to tell you'll honestly, one of the reasons I am now here on this platform is because I want to save money to buy a laptop. When my sister introduce this platform to me, I instantly thought of how I can use it to save money. However, it was impossible since I am not regularly publishing an article and I rarely visit here because I focused more on my school work. But even so, I am still here on this platform to express my thoughts and feelings. And I am now sharing my gratitude towards the people who are behind this subsidy. I can say that I am lucky when it comes to government scholarships. Because when I was in high school I am a scholar of our city government and it really help me during those years, especially in school expenses and I also help my mother's expenses at home. The same now in college. I am super thankful for the subsidy program because it helped a lot of students, especially those students who can't afford to buy gadgets that are needed for online classes. I am now more inspired to do my best this time since I have now a laptop and a stable internet connection. Thank you for reading everyone! God bless you more!

@Iamhasmin

Creativity is Important (reflection on Ted talks episode "does school kill creativity?) Sir Ken Robinson (the speaker) emphasizes in his speech that creativity is just as important as literacy in education. Children are taught not to make mistakes in school, and the educational system sees making mistakes as the worst thing that can happen. And, according to Sir Robinson, being creative entails being willing to make mistakes. The educational systems place math and science at the top, social science in the centre, and the arts at the bottom of the list of fields. He says that this is due to the fact that math and science were formerly considered important for employment during the industrial revolution. People want a decent job, so they go to school, get a bachelor's degree, a master's degree, and then a PhD. However, because time passes so fast, it is not a guarantee for a job. He also discusses the three characteristics of intelligence, which are that it is diverse, dynamic, and distinct. One of his examples is a little girl whose parents believes she is not normal, but discovered that she only needs to dance to think, and she enrolled in a dance school where she fit in perfectly, and her dancing ability brought her tremendous fame and money. Creativity developed skills that are essential in today’s generation and in the work place. This is not limited only to dance skill, music skill, and arts skill and so on. But it develops individuals to think outside of the box, to be innovative and authentic. I agree with Sir Robinson that being creative is willing to be wrong, because being wrong or committing mistake means that you have the capability of thinking, you have the capability of analysing the situation. When we enter school, our learning depends on the subject content that a teacher teaches us. Teachers and parents encourage us to do well in math and science since these two subjects are the most advantageous in the future and if you will good at these two subject people look at you as intelligent or smart. Kids are naturally creative, but because school teaches us the knowledge system that cycle where creative skills were not highly emphasize. And then the intelligence of the students is the expected outcomes that the education system expected. Their knowledge or intelligence is not beyond the box, not beyond the school, and not beyond the content. Another realization is that an individual has different learning style and strengths. Students are diverse, they have different learning approach. Teachers and parents plays an important role in determining their strengths. Just like the example of Sir Robinson that the students need to dance to think. And teachers and parents should be like the doctor, where they should observe properly their students or children, so that at the early age, the kids already determine their strength and their learning style and they can provide the perfect learning environment that students fit in. Like students who need to draw to think so they will send to art school, students who need to sing to think so they send their to music school. It is because when the students’ interest or creativity will be blocked, then there’s a possibility throughout the school years the creativity of the student will be killed. I also want to talk about the parents’ big role in this situation. That parents’ observation towards their kids must contagious. Let me share my own experience, I love to draw and this is one of my hobby ever since. When my father find out that I have interest in drawing when I was in my first year in college, he told me that I should not pursue it or not giving my interest on it and just to graduate education degree so that I can land a profession just like my sister. When I heard him say that, I become speechless because I never thought that he could say that since my parents never say things with my decisions and interest. It’s one of the reason why I take this degree program because I want to expand my knowledge in art. My interest in drawing started when I was in primary school but when I enter secondary school which is the junior high I’m focused more on the academic aspect since I have this desire to be one of the top of the class, but even though I have good grades back then I never felt that I am smart enough, yes I excel in some subjects like English and TLE but it was not enough for me. When I was in senior high school, I stop aiming for high grades and bringing back my interest in drawing which doodling in my notebooks. Every time there is a vacant time, I spent doodling at the back of my notebook, and every time that I feel that my mind isn’t working, I doodle and doodle. My mind operates properly when I spend time in doodle/drawing. And the irony is that I have good grades and being active in class. And now, during the start of the pandemic I spend my time exploring drawing again since I have a lot of time. When the school year started during pandemic, I spend time in drawing when I feel that I can’t think properly. What I‘m trying to say is that creativity and intelligence makes balance. Teachers teaching strategies must not focus only on the knowledge or intelligence, they can integrate creativity in school. Does school kills creativity? Well, no. School doesn’t kill creativity, the education system must try to look what would creativity help developed skills or intelligence to students. We are in a 21st century and there is a big change when it comes to students learning style, teachers teaching strategy, and the education system. Adapting is the key, we should not limit the system in the past. Well as of now, creativity integration is already visible.

Sketchbook Tour: Last Part Hello, everyone! We are now in the last part of my sketchbook tour. But before we delve into it, let me share with you how's my week going on. I'm kind of under pressure because it's our enrollment week and the idea that this semester is going to be tough for me. I have doubts about myself, if I can do this, is my learning enough to survive this semester? But with all these doubts, I will just go with the flow and trust the process. That's all I can assure myself as of now. Another thing that keep me busy this week is watching Youtube videos, especially those vlogs that are inspirational and motivational because that's what I need right now. And I'm planning to publish an article about my realization and reflection about it. Hope I can manage my time for that. I would like to thank my sponsors also. And I just want to ask you this question. **"How are you?"** I just want to know how are you doing right now. I know we have individual battles we face. I know you can overcome it, and find your success. And I want to leave this quotation from the song lyrics of Stay the Same song, **"have faith in what you do, you'll make it through".** Just believe in yourself that you can make it, trust yourself and the process. Fighting! **And by the way, I'm encouraging you to comment your criticisms, observations, reactions and suggestions about my artworks, I will highly appreciated it.** **I t will help me a lot in developing my drawing skill.** And now, let's start the tour. I haven't drawn this much this time because I can't manage my time well. I find difficulty balancing with my hobbies to my academic activities. So these drawings are done more during the vacation last year. I will not put much description in each photo. And that's it. I haven't able to draw for a long time because I also losing inspiration to do that. Since my mind is occupied with my responsibilities as a student. I tried so many times, but it was hard for me to start nor to finish it. So I took a break there first. So when I said that I draw one anime character from hunter x hunter, I took it as a challenge. I did it so that I would know in myself that I can still draw. So I was able to do it and I can say that I still have the satisfaction everytime I draw. So I promised myself that when I have a free time and feel to draw, then I will draw to help me refresh and at the same time enjoy. So if you have things that you really want to do. Don't be afraid to try it and feel it. We never know if we don't experience it. Find some inspiration to continue doing. Find people who appreciated your works or as you as a person. Just don't be afraid of the criticisms 'cause it helps you develop more and more.

Is There Any Improvement? (Sketchbook Tour #2) Good day, everyone! Welcome to the second part of my sketchbook tour.  Yeah! If you haven't read the first part of this tour, you can read it here > https://read.cash/@Iamhasmin/sketchbook-tour-1-7f8a8c32 And now I'm going to show you two sketchbooks this time.  This is when the pandemic officially  begins.  Because we are not permitted to leave our house and it bores me, one of my plans at this time is to practice drawing  because I have more time to devote to it. Since the school has been closed owing to the outbreak of covid 19. I challenge myself to practice and practice and explore. But before anything else, my sketchbooks as well as pencils and other materials are not that good quality since you know I'm just a beginner and I don't want to spend huge money on this since it's just a practice. And just a quick review of my article about My Art Story which you can read it here > https://read.cash/@Iamhasmin/my-art-story-ddf0f14d  *"I attempted to follow a video tutorial on how to enhance my drawing skills and what art supplies to use. However, because art materials are rather expensive, financial instability prevents me from purchasing the art materials that I really want to have and utilize. Observing art tutorial videos became a pastime for me. I won't be able to do so till I start college. Because I chose a degree program with art as one of the majors, and I had already purchased genuine art supplies such as a sketch pad and a graphite pencil by that time. Despite the fact that it was past practice time, I continued to practice. And now that the pandemic has struck, I've been given plenty of opportunities to experiment with and improve my artistic skills."* Now, let's see whether I've made any progress. Let's get it on! As you have observed, most of my drawings are portraits. And the most difficult part for me to draw is hair. Through the process of practicing ever since at the beginning I really don't know how to draw the hair. I watch tutorials on Instagram and YouTube but I still don't get it. Another one is the face, since I've mentioned before about anatomy, which I find it difficult and I don't get it easily. So yeah I don't know how to draw the right proportion of the face. Another thing is the shading, I still don't know where to put the dark and light side of the face. And lastly the color, I don't know how to blend colors and apply them. Sometimes when I apply color the product looks ugly. So I settled with a pencil. And I tried to copy so many references but ended up with a different face, so I will settle for that. I won't pursue it anymore and I will use reference as my guide only. Haha During this time, I'm eager to learn drawing since I'm inspired and motivated because I was able to get along with some artists on Instagram since I've made an account for my arts. I was able to share my interest and learn their interest as well. And I was also able to observes different arts works.

Sketchbook Tour #1 Hello everyone! I'm going to take you on a tour of my first sketchbook today.  My work isn't particularly good because it's my first sketchbook, and I'm still learning.  Around the year 2019, I purchased my first sketchbook in order to properly practice using the necessary art materials.  During that time, I'm cautious to purchase since I know I won't be able to afford it even though it's cheap because I'm a student with limited funds for non-academic purchases.  So, despite my eagerness to practice and study drawing, I realize that the knowledge I receive from watching YouTube tutorials is insufficient without application. So here it goes! This is my first drawing in my first sketchbook. During this time, I put a lot of time into watching tutorials and practicing and I'm motivated and inspired by my classmates' drawing skills. These are my drawings in my first sketchbook. I'm not sharing to brag about my drawings because I know I'm not that good in drawing. But I share it to see if there is any development through the process. Thank you everyone Comment for part two

Unfinished story of 2021 Hello everyone, I'm going to share one of the stories I started in 2021 but didn't finish because of the typhoon. Since this is a Christmas story, I intend to publish it in December. However, I was unable to complete it on or before Christmas day. I'd like to post it here because I don't want it to be wasted. And I don't think I'll be able to finish it this time because I have other things on my mind. So here the story goes. Title: **My Wish this Christmas** `It’s already the start of December, and the threat of the virus is still present. People are staying in their homes and not going out if not necessary. Geneva a 16-year-old and the only daughter of Mr & Mrs. Castro was not any happier in this kind of setup. Plus the fact that her parents always quarrel because of their business that little by little went to bankruptcy because of the pandemic and they are not anymore financially stable at this time. Geneva is like other teenagers who want to do their things and don’t want to be controlled. Especially since she’s always in their house, she feels that she doesn’t have freedom anymore. And because of this, she becomes stubborn and rebellious, she doesn’t do household chores sometimes, she doesn’t do her school works, and she just scrolls through her phone and hangs out with friends without telling her parents. She’s lucky even because her parents will give her the things that she wants like gadgets, dresses, makeup, and others.` `Because of her behavior, her parents will scold her and this just adds to her parents’ problem. They will always stress when going home from their work. And Geneva didn’t see the efforts and hard work of her parents, instead, she just does things that makes her parents disappoint.` `One night, Geneva went to her friend’s birthday and didn’t tell her parents about it. Mr & Mrs. Castro was hysterical at the moment since their daughter wasn’t at home in the middle of the night. And what’s sadder is that their business is now in total bankruptcy, so they just lost their livelihood, they don’t know where to start again. And then, Geneva comes home drunk. Her parents were angry and so disappointed. And Geneva as stubborn as always talk back to her parents, and she said, “stop it, ma. I’m tired of hearing you two quarreled. I know what I’m doing!” Her parents didn’t expect her to talk that way, so she received a slap from her mother. “What goes into your mind, Geneva? You’re only 16, and you’re acting like that?”, her mother said. Her father was just on the other side so stressed about their lost business. Her mother was very angry, “go to your room and you are grounded for a week!” her mother angrily said. Geneva walks through her room and slams the door. “Ahh, I hate you, I hate you!” she shouted on top of her lungs and throws her pillows on the ground. The family picture that was on her bedside table was accidentally hit by the pillow. The picture got broken and Geneva picks it, staring at their family picture with anger. Geneva with her tarried eyes talks to the picture not thinking about the things that she’ll be going to say. “I wish I’m not your daughter”, she said.` Geneva's wish has come true, her parents couldn't recognize her anymore as their daughter. Geneva now regrets everything she has done. So, when Christmas Eve came, she wished that her parents would return and recognize her again, and her wish was granted. That's supposed to be the flow of the story. I hope you like it! ☺

Essay 002: The Challenges and the changes Hello, earthlings! As you notice, this is my second article about the topic indigenous people. I write this article to understand better the challenges and the changes that indigenous people have experienced. These are just my thoughts, opinions and prior knowledge about the IPs. Please do respect, and if ever I have put wrong information just tell me so that I can make changes about it. Thank you and enjoy reading! The Philippine Indigenous People already have a political and social unit before the colonizers invaded the country. They already have a form of exchanging goods and products from neighboring countries. IPs during the pre-historic period live without the control of other people, they live in their own choices and decisions. They work for their own consumption. Also, they have rules and regulations in their community which is good for everyone, like the peonage. When the colonizers came, indigenous people experienced a lot of challenges, that brought threats to their lives. Such as extortion, slavery, poverty, hunger, exploitation, physical abuses, killings, loss of habitat, and displacement. And some indigenous people leave their lands and live in a far place to avoid these kind of treatment and contact from the colonizers. These things happened as the colonizers want to control and manipulate the native Filipino to follow their wants and rules. Since the colonizers came to the Philippines for their natural resources, spread religion, and civilized the country. In addition, they used the Philippines for their economic growth during the American colonization. Where they said that such development is for the Philippines, but the native Filipino remains poor and low. Another challenge that indigenous people experienced during the colonization period is the changes in their environment. The colonizers came into the country with their culture, language, and customs, which was incorporated for a long time by native Filipinos. And this leads to a culture change experienced by natives. From their accustomed life to a foreign one which has a big difference and facing a lot of circumstances. Just like the livelihood of indigenous people that is on agriculture and shift into constructing structures and other public works. From their native language to mixed with Spanish and English. From their cultural rituals and beliefs to Christianity. And a lot of changes that indigenous people experience. For them to survive in a new environment, an adaptation process was employed. But through this process, it resulted to cultures with colonizers mixture, or forgotten and fades. Education was the biggest change that the colonizers brought. Filipinos are being educated, and they already adapt the cultures, language, and customs of the colonizers. And people create standards in society and standards of professionalism. In the contemporary period, indigenous people still experienced the challenges that indigenous people experienced during colonial rule. But not anymore with the hands of colonizers but in the hands of fellow Filipino people who looked them as marginalized people. Indigenous people preserve, conserve, and protect their ancestral domains as it is their practice to care for nature and natural resources. The government focused on the development and economic growth of the country. The indigenous people are one of the poorest groups in the country, so they are one of the target beneficiaries of it. There is an existing law that protects the right of indigenous people. The indigenous people who are displaced encountered discrimination, stereotyping, and prejudice in their newfound place to settle. Why does it happen? Why does indigenous people still experience these challenges? It is because people don’t have enough knowledge and understanding about the IPs situation. In connection to history, it is because of how the colonizers’ value about development matters. And also because Filipino observe the colonizers’ treatment to indigenous people. The indigenous people and nonindigenous should both know the rights of IPs and their situation. Because the indigenous people must get the development that they want and not be left behind. They will get the respect from their fellow countrymen.

Knowledge +Skills = success Hello, earthlings! Let me share with you my thoughts about the strong skill set that's essential in the workplace and the changing society. There is a constant change happening in our society and people must develop strong skills to survive in the changing environment. Growing up, always heard this thought that education is the key to becoming successful in the future, having a good and stable job, or becoming a professional. But now there are a lot of successful people who don’t even finish a degree program but they still find their success, and there are also some graduates that didn’t find a stable job. Since competence exists. Learning is not only in school, but through life experiences, and self-taught. Because some of the most important life skills are not being taught in classrooms. And in your workplace, not all learnings in school can be applied. So the skills mentioned in the following paragraphs are the essential skills for us to survive in our workplace and in our changing society. First is creativity, the use of your creative imagination to produce an authentic and aesthetic product that is functional and innovative. Using your limitless imagination and creativity. From what I observed nowadays on the social media platform, people are becoming creative, just like video editing, fashion designing, "do it yourself" crafts, composing original songs, and many more. Problem-solving and critical thinking skills, the capability to solve problems, to find immediate solutions, and reasoning, as our lives are full of circumstances and challenges, we need this skill to go on. Tolerance and self-discipline are skills that are only learned in ourselves, this is done by practicing it by yourself, this is to create harmony and peace within yourself and to the people around you. Good communication or the ability to communicate in different ways is essential in keeping good relationships between your employer, co-workers, and the people around you. It is also important to learn another language as this is a big help for businesses transaction. Learning a different language will also train your brain or memory. In our everyday life, these skills are essential and for us to easily adapt to the changes in our society. It will give us the confidence and assurance that we can succeed and make it. Thank you for reading!

The Golden Microphone Hello, everyone! This is a fictitious story and just a product of my creative imagination. Hope you like it. There was a ten-year-old boy who had known globally because of his golden voice. His name is John, he is an extra ordinary kid. Many great professional singers wants to have a collaboration with him. Because of his golden voice, he helped his family rise from poverty. John is a very kind hearted person. He helped his mother in selling water and snacks in the terminal. One day, while walking in the street, he saw an old lady who is very tired and very hungry. So, John helps the old lady to sit near the post and he gave water and snacks for free. The old lady is very thankful to John for she hasn’t eating for almost two days. “Thank you very much apo”, the old lady said. “You’re welcome lola, by the way why are you walking alone in this busy street?” John asked. The old lady was busy eating and her mouth is full, so she can’t speak clearly. So John let the old lady finished first. Then after, the old lady asked John what he wants as a compensation of what he done. “No it’s okay, don’t worry lola”, John answered and stood up to leave to sell his goods. The old lady get something in her bag and give it to John. “This is for you apo,” the old lady said. When John saw what it is, he is so shocked and curious. He gets the thing and eyed it in focus. When he about to ask the old lady, it was gone, he didn’t notice that it was left already. He was so curious why the old lady gave her an old wireless microphone. It has a lot of scratches and rust, but the real color gold of it is still visible in some parts. John loves to sing but because they are poor and he kept his time selling in the street and he never experiences singing in a video-ok. Out of curiosity, John tries to test the microphone. John sings without noticing that the people in his surroundings stop what they are doing and walks towards John because they are amazed by his voice, and some are recording. After he sings, he notices that the scratch and rust in the microphone was disappeared and it look like a brand new microphone. John was really happy because people in his surrounding like his voice. During the night, the old lady visit John’s dream. “With the help of this microphone, you will be known everywhere in the world. People will love your voice and your dreams will come true”, the old lady stated. And then the next morning, the video of John singing in the street got viral all over the world. Lot of opportunities came and many people help him after knowing their status in life. And that's how his life change.

Part 4: A potential career path or not? Hello, earthlings This is the last part of my reflective essay on the webinar series about creative industries that possible job opportunities as taking the Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education degree program. This creative industry is Publishing Industry and Local Library Museum and Art Galleries. Working in the publishing industry, libraries, museums, and galleries necessitates certain skills and characteristics. Communication skills, organizational skills, business and marketing skills, creativity, writing skills, teamwork ability, and honesty and integrity are among them. Working with different people, collaborating, and interacting on a daily basis is a common denominator for those skills. Visiting and working in a museum is one of my lifelong ambitions. Being surrounded by great artworks that are culturally significant is magical for me. We can see the artists' emotions, the message, and the culture that is depicted through their artworks. As I've said before, I want to be an advocate for preserving and promoting culture, and this creative industry will provide the ideal setting for me to do so.

Adaptive Strategy during the Pandemic During the pandemic, people stay in their homes for extended periods of time, abandoning their hobbies, jobs, and other interests. At home, people become stressed and bored. Anxiety and depression are common during this stage. There have also been reports of women being abused by their partners, as well as cyber sex involving minors, which the family refers to as primps. There have also been reports of students committing suicide as a result of the difficulties and stress of independent learning. Furthermore, small businesses are at a standstill. One of the strategies to overcome stressed and boredom at home is planting flowers and ornamental plants. The so called “plantitos and plantitas” born in this pandemic and open up for business opportunities, another one is the used of social media. The government offers free consultation about mental health. In small businesses they back operating but with strict safety protocols. People adjust and adapt to their surroundings. In this pandemic, our environment is a threat and not safe at all, and we humans have developed adaptive strategies to keep going and living. Humans and the environment are inextricably linked. Our behavior, culture, and beliefs are influenced by our environment.

That Night Hello, earthlings! I just want to share here the one I produced in our scriptwriting lesson. It's a cliche story by the way. Hehehe Hope you'll like it! Characters: Nadia - she work as a waitress at an early age because her mother was sick. Simon – a man who has secret feelings for Nadia. He always stalks Nadia where ever she goes. Leo – He is a close friend of Nadia, who is always there for her. Scene 1: At the karenderya, where Nadia works as a waitress. NADIA: Ma’am Sela, I’m going home now. My mother is waiting for me. I need to give her the medicine as soon. ALING SELSA: (nodded and smile) Okay, take care. (Nadia picks her bag and walks through the door. She bid goodbye to her co-workers) NADIA: (wave her hand and smile) Bye, I’ll go now. (When she was outside in the karenderya, she looks around because she felt that someone is watching her from afar. Her co-worker approaches her from behind and she was surprised by the sudden appearance.) CO-WORKER: Nadia! (Touch Nadia’s shoulder) NADIA: (she was surprised and startled) Oh! It’s you, why? CO-WORKER: Sorry, did I scare you? You left your phone in the locker room. (She handed the phone to Nadia) NADIA: No. Thank you. (She gets the phone) (The co-worker gets back inside the karenderya. She put her phone in her bag and started walking on her way home) Scene 2: A silent street, where there is plenty of garbage scattered on the other side of the street. Nadia walks alone, relying alone on the weak light of the light post to guide her home. When she was in the part of the street that was no longer illuminated by light, she stop and look in her back. When she looks in front, Simon appears in front of her. Nadia was taken aback and was startled by the sudden appearance of the man. NADIA: (she gasped, and looked carefully at the man’s face) Holy!!! (When she recognized who it was, she laughed slightly) Simon, is that you? What are you doing here? SIMON: Sorry I scared you, Nadia, I saw you, so I came. I’m sorry again. NADIA: No, it’s okay, I’m fine. Ahm, how long have you’ve been here by the way? Did you see someone from my behind? Because I feel like someone is following me. SIMON: (a bit conscious and stuttered) ah…ju-just now… I’m just…passing by here…ah- and then I saw you. NADIA: Ah okay, I need to go, my mother is waiting for me at home, I need to give her the medicine. (Started to walk and pass Simon) SIMON: (he immediately grabbed Nadia’s arm) ah wait, NADIA: (shocked by the sudden action of Simon, she looks at her arm where Simon holds) my hand, please. What it is? SIMON: (he let go of Nadia’s arm) ahm, I just want to have a little talk with you, can you come with me? NADIA: No, it’s already late and my mother is waiting for me. SIMON: (In an upset voice) Just a little time, Nadia, please. NADIA: (with a suspicious voice) What do you want from me? SIMON: (he started to get impatient) Look, Nadia. I’ve been following you all day, and this is all that I get?! I will not allow it! NADIA: What? (Very shocked) what do you mean?...what do you mean, huh? So, you are the stalker? Tell me! (Anger started to build up) SIMON: what do you think? Don’t play hard to get, Nadia. (Strongly hold Nadia’s arm again). NADIA: I can’t believe it! ...Why? ... Why do you have to follow me all day? ... I treat you as a friend. I trust you… Do you know how I feel, every time I feel when someone is watching me? I feel scared…anxious… Do you think it’s funny, huh? SIMON: Nadia, I like you so much! NADIA: I don’t like you! (Tried to get away from Simon’s hands) let me go! … Simon let me go, please!. (However, Simon is strong enough, so what she did is kick Simon’s private part.) SIMON: uugghh! NADIA!! (Shout on top of his lungs) Come back here... Nadia... Don’t let me catch you, Nadia! I swear, I will be going to punish you! (Nadia runs as fast as she could until he bumped into somebody. And that’s Leo her trusted friend) LEO: Nadia? What happened to you? NADIA: Leo, help me, help me, please! LEO: Why? What happened? NADIA: (she’s about to cry) It’s Simon! LEO: Yeah, what about Simon? NADIA: I told you before that there is someone always watching and following me. It’s him. LEO: And I told you before to stay away from him, right? NADIA: He is kind to me. LEO: He is a psycho, Nadia. You never listen to me. NADIA: Help me Leo!, he’s coming! LEO: Common, let’s go. (They run and find a place to hide. They hide in the mountains of garbage that are scattered on the side of the street) SIMON: (shouting) Nadia! …Nadia... (Simon passes by the garbage where Nadia and Leo hide. (He pats Nadia’s shoulder) We can buy a new one. NADIA: I don’t have money. LEO: That’s not a problem. Common let's go buy the medicine for your mother. (He grabbed Nadia’s hand towards the nearest pharmacy store and he pays it. And they started walking) NADIA: Thank you, you are my savior. LEO: Nah, don’t mention it, Haha NADIA: Hay, A lot of things happened today, I still can’t believe it. I thought his nice. LEO: Do you like him? (He asked out of the blue) NADIA: What? Haha, you know what? You’re so funny. Of course not! You are silly. He is just a friend, but he broke it. LEO: Don’t think about him anymore, okay? If you need anything, I’m here always, I will protect you. NADIA: Thank you very much. You are so kind. (Smile) LEO: Common, let’s go. Your mom is waiting. (They walk together side by side) Scene 4: At Nadia’s house NADIA: Ma, ma. I’m already home. Here’s your medicine. LEO: Maybe your mother is sleeping in her room. Let’s check it. (They went to her mother’s room. And they are surprised by what they have seen. Nadia’s mother is lying on the floor) NADIA: Ma!... ma!... wake up. Ma! (She shouts and went to her mother immediately and tries to wake her up) LEO: Tita, wake up!... Tita… Let’s bring her to the hospital. They bring Nadia’s mother to the nearest hospital. The doctor assists them instantly. LEO: Your mother will be okay. NADIA: I know. Thank you After a minute, the doctor approaches them NADIA: How is she, Doc? DOCTOR: She’s fine now. You can visit her. NADIA: Thank you, Doc. (she entered the room where her mother is) LEO: Nadia, I’m just going to buy some food. NADIA: Okay, take care. (Leo went out of the room. Nadia sat on the chair near her mother’s bed. Her mother suddenly woke up) NADIA: Ma! You’re awake. How are you feeling now? MOTHER: What time is it? NADIA: Ahm, it’s already 11:30, Ma. Sorry, I took so long to get home, there are many customers in the karenderya. Ah! By the way, I bought your medicine, here. (She give the medicine to her mother) take the medicine now, to make you feel better. MOTHER: Thank you, anak. (smile)… Oh, where is Leo? I heard his voice a little while ago. NADIA: He went out to buy some food. MOTHER: Anak, Leo is such a good person. I like him for you. (smile) NADIA: Ma! Stop talking nonsense, okay. MOTHER: Why? Haha…I’m just stating the facts. Is he courting you? NADIA: Ma, no, he’s not. We’re just… friends, I think. MOTHER: You like him? NADIA: Ma! Stop it! Leo might hear us. MOTHER: Eh. He’s not here, it’s just okay. Haha I’m just kidding aside. You go home now, take some rest. You have work tomorrow. NADIA: I will be absent tomorrow. I will take care of you. (Leo knocks on the door) LEO: Hello po, Tita. Let’s eat first. I bought sinigang for you, Tita. MOTHER: Thank you, Iho. (They finished eating) MOTHER: Nadia, you can go home now. I will just call your Tita to come here. You need to rest. Leo, please bring home my daughter safe. LEO: I will, Tita. NADIA: Okay Ma, just call me, okay? Leo and Nadia went out of the room and walk through the exit door of the building. Nadia walks like there is something she’s deeply thinking. LEO: Are you okay? NADIA: Yeah, I’m just exhausted, I think. (She stops walking and look at Leo’s face) LEO: It’s going to be fine, okay? NADIA: Thank you, without you, I don’t know what to do. LEO: You thank me so many times tonight. (Smile) NADIA: (smile) Thank you, thank you, thank you, tha- (Leo hugs her and that makes her stop saying thank you. Nadia hide her smile at Leo’s shoulder) NADIA: Thank you. (She laughs) Leo hugs her tightly and they laugh in chorus. The End.

Staying Single I'm not interested in being in a serious relationship right now which I've never been in one before. My previous relationships were not typical "boyfriend/girlfriend" relationships, in the sense that we did not date or be intimate, and we solely communicated via text message, which was common at the time. I didn't want to be alone at that age because I was young and partly influenced by my social groups, so I tried to engage in a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship to feel included. Those previous relationships, on the other hand, were not memorable, and I don't see a positive or romantic aspect to them, so I've decided to quit entertaining suitors. Gradually, I'm losing my attraction to males. I used to believe that if I went to college, I'd meet the ideal man. But I just realized that I didn't like anyone. When there are a lot of attractive guys at the university, unlike when I was in high school and was easily attracted to guys. Maybe it's because I'm too focused on myself and living in the moment throughout my college years. And, possibly, another influence is my environment, the people in my immediate vicinity. For example, in school, I've seen classmates and friends who are in relationships crying because of their issues in their relationship and other classmates who became pregnant and stopped going to school. Those events in my immediate environment make me wonder what would happen if it happened to me. I'm not ready for those kinds of dramas in my life, to be honest. Lastly, I am not ready to commit. I also don't want to push myself. As a result, I made a promise to myself that I would never be in a relationship while in college. When I watched adorable couples on social media or read romantic stories on Wattpad, though, I became a hopeless romantic. But, to be honest, I don't see myself in that kind of scenario at this moment. I'm just happy right now, and I know that the right man will come along in the future, and I hope that I'll be perfectly prepared in every way.

A Potential Career Path or Not? Hello everyone, This is the third part of my article entitled "Thinking about my Future Profession". I hope you guys will read it as well as the second part entitled " Can I Land a Job in Music Industry?". And this time, another creative industry was tackled in the webinar series that I attended, which is the TV and Radio Station. The speaker discussed the TV and radio before and during the pandemic, and the challenges that they encountered. He also presents data that shows the percentage of human interest in TV and radio news programs, which the entertainment got the higher percentage more than the information/education. In this article, I’d like to point out my preference when it comes to news media and entertainment, is it TV and radio station or social media? Additionally, I will also talk about this creative industry as a potential career path after graduation. To begin with, when I was young I used to experience listening to the radio since we don’t have television as well as electricity. We listen to news, drama, and songs on the radio. When the time where we already have a television, we still listen to the radio. Our interest in radio is waning as time passes, owing to the fact that television provides both visual and auditory information, while radio just provides auditory information. Radio, on the other hand, allows the mind to be imaginative. And then, I used to enjoy watching the news on television, especially at night when my family and I were watching and discussing what was being reported, it was like our bonding that time. Unfortunately, once I got a cellphone, I didn’t watch TV that much, and instead, I spent my time scrolling around social media. Maybe I just watch television when I get tired of using my cellphone. However, it is preferable to watch the news on television rather than read posts on social media since we never know if the source is reliable and also in television news are up to date. Another pertinent point is, is this creative industry a good fit for the profession I’d like to get in the future? When it comes to entertainment, yes, I have the ability to perform, even if it isn’t fully developed at this time. However, I believe it will develop over time, especially when you are in the field. While in the information/education, yes too, perhaps jobs behinds the camera, because as what the speaker stated that content is much more important and I think I have the ability. In conclusion, even as technology advances, particularly in the areas of entertainment and information, the classics and old ones are not forgotten and will not be replaced by new developments. And if I do get a position in this creative area, it will be a great opportunity for me to grow both professionally and personally.

Can I land a Job in Music Industry? This is the second part of "Thinking About My Future Profession" Looking back to my primary school days, when I was in grade 6, I recall my instructor asking me to write and sketch traditional Philippine musical instruments on the board. I was amazed and mesmerized by how beautiful the Filipino culture is. That was the time where my appreciation of music started. I was thinking that it is nice to know and experience playing those traditional instruments and others. But, that has never happened, it is because there is no such thing in my high school years. So, it is one of the reasons why I take the BCAED course because I want to be knowledgeable about music and at the same time an opportunity for me to learn to play a musical instrument. But, up until now, I still don’t have musical instruments where I know to play, and additionally, I don’t have a nice voice. I love to see music performances, and I always get amazed by the singers and the musicians. That’s why I thought that the music industry is not for me because I’m close to the idea that the music industry is for singers and musicians. What is it like to work in the music industry webinar series has helped me realize that there are other options besides being a singer or musician. I learned in this topic that aside from singer and musician, there are also other jobs, like composer, songwriter, performer, and many more, that I can still show my creativity in this creative industry. Just like in writing a song, I remember when I was in grade 5, that time I’m fun of watching entertainment shows on television where singers and dancers are performing. And then, I was inspired why not write a song, so I write a song, and then I kept on humming and singing it in the classroom. And one of my classmates eventually learned to sing it, because she always hears me sing that song that’s not familiar to her. But now, I can’t remember the lyrics of that song that I made. So going back to the present, I’m not that into music not like when I was in elementary. I forgot that it is one of my impossible dreams before. It is impossible because I don’t have a nice voice, I’m out of tune, and I don’t know how to play an instrument. But, this webinar, it opens again my interest in the music industry. And if ever I land a job in the music industry, I will take this as a big opportunity and a big challenge to me. Just don’t be afraid to explore and learn new things. Because skill and talent are important aspects that one should possess.

Thinking About My Future Profession Hello, everyone! Today, I'll be sharing the things that I've learned in the webinar that I attended. This webinar is about what is it like to work in a creative industry. I am a graduating student taking Bachelor of Culture and Arts Education, and our career path is not limited only to teaching and it's include working in creative industry. At this stage in my academic career, I'm asking myself these concerns since it's not clear to me what job I'll be able to get after I graduate, especially because there are so many other options outside teaching. Therefore, the webinar series entitled “what is it like to work in a creative industry?” gives me an idea of what it is like to work as well as helps me find a possible creative industry that will fit my interest, ability, and skills. The webinar will tackle the job description, experiences, and challenges in the workplace of the said professionals in their respective creative industries. Now let’s talk about the first creative industry, which is the Local Government Tourism Office . In the presentation, the speaker discussed the definition of tourism, types of tourism, the events they organized, and the characteristics and traits they possessed in their workplace. To begin with, let me answer the question, what I’ve learned and realized in this topic? Does the local government tourism office awaken my dream job interest? Well, I’ve learned that tourism helps preserve and promote the culture and arts of the locals. As a BCAED student, I have this desire of preserving and promoting the culture and the arts. It is important that the culture and the arts will be preserve so that the next generation will know and understand their identity and roots. In addition, tourism plays an important role in our economy, as it promotes tourists destination that attracts tourists. It is like hitting two birds in one stone because it will not only boost the economy but as well as preserving and promoting the culture and the arts. Moreover, tourism organized culture and arts events that will showcase the talents, skills, and of course the culture. As I love to see performances as well as love to perform, this creative industry is said to suit the things I am interested in. Another thing that was discussed in the presentation is the characteristics and traits that should be possessed in the workplace that add more to my interest because these will be not only convenient in the workplace but also self-development. These characteristics and traits include outgoing and approachable, proactive, sensitive, flexible, well-groomed, confidence, sense of humor, and of course being knowledgeable in the field. Hearing these characteristics and traits, makes me want to experience them and wanting to develop these all in myself, which will help me become a better person. Because I believe that it will develop when always exposed to it. All in all, this creative industry holds a significant role in preserving and promoting the culture and the arts and showcasing the beauty and talents. And if ever I might land a job in this creative industry, I will take that as a big opportunity for me to do my best and to learn more. As the speaker says that, just do where you are good at and be confident in your skill and talent. So now, I have an idea of what is it likes to work in a local government tourism office and the qualities that I should have. In addition, this creative industry has been added to my list of possible work that fit my interest, ability, and skill.

The prevalent Filipino culture during Pandemic: My observation I made this last year during the beginning of the pandemic where Filipino culture was prevalent as an adaptive mechanism for us to survive. The first identified cultural element is Filipino cuisine specifically the pandesal. During pandemic, many business including the restaurants and other food business was highly affected because of the lockdown and quarantine. So, their strategy to gain profit is the pandesal which they made a different flavor and it was suited to the taste of Filipino, and not just Filipino but they bring it also in abroad. Also the other Filipino cuisine like adobo. And they sell it in online and deliver. Second is language, in my hometown, they used Bisaya in spreading the awareness, information, protocols and current update about covid-19 and posting it on their social media page and also earing it in radio. Third is religion, despite the social distancing, churches still ongoing with religious activities like mass, wedding, christening, with the social distancing and other protocols. And people hold to their faith that this pandemic will end as soon. Fourth is music and dance, Filipino are fun of music and dance, and this is one of the strategies during this pandemic. Especially those frontliners who are bottling of covid-19 engaged in exercises, like zumba fitness. Just like in Prince Baybay, before they start their work they have zumba fitness every morning. Lastly, is the belief of traditional health remedies, specifically the tuob or steam inhalation. People believe that it will help cure the corona virus by inhaling the steam. Filipino believes in traditional remedies like, tawa-tawa for dengue and any other, and Filipino have strong belief about this, especially in rural areas. The vaccine for covid-19 is still on process that’s why they hold and believe in Filipino health remedies.

My Art Story Hello everyone! I will gonna share the story of my art journey. This is the first time that I’ll be going to share my experiences and how my art skill developed. Honestly, I’m not that good at drawing but I know that I have the potential. So, without further a due, here is my journey. In primary school, art activities are one of the activities in the classroom that I’m always excited about and enjoyed. Drawing books, crayons, and pencils are the art materials that I’ve only known. Pupils are taught how to color and how to draw since it will develop such skills that are essential in a child’s development. I can still remember when I was in grade two where I was scolded by my teacher because she was lecturing us the lesson and she notices that I’m not listening and doing my own things, which I doodling in my paper and not paying attention to her. So what she did is she gets the crayons on my table and throws it away. That was the very first time that I’m being scolded in front of anybody. I’m just a kid that time and it’s not a big deal for me though. So when I was in grades four to six, this is the time where we really explore arts and crafts, like making origami, mosaic, watercolor, and many more, and also the time where I know in myself that I can do better in art and it makes me happy. There was one time where I’m tasked to write a lesson in music which is about the traditional musical instruments, so I need to draw the musical instruments. And my classmates and teacher complimented me for being able to draw the musical instruments nicely. So when I was in high school, one of my hobbies is making doodles in my notebooks. Since that time, I don’t have any plan on being serious in art, it's just my passing time when I’m bored in school until I reached senior high school. That time, I tried to watch a tutorial video on how to improve my drawing and the art materials that are appropriate to use. But because of financial instability hinders me to buy the art materials that I really want to have and use, because art materials are quite expensive. It became also my hobby to watch art tutorial videos. Not until when I’m in college. Because I choose a degree program which one of the majors is art, and by that time I bought real art materials like sketch pad and graphite pencil. Though it was late to practice, but still pursuing it. And now that the pandemic has come, I was given a lot of time to explore and practice my drawing skill. I know that I'm not good at it, but I know also that each time I practiced there is development. Here are some of my artworks: So, thank you everyone, If you have any suggestions on how to improve my drawing skill, just comment, I gladly appreciate it.

Essay: evaluating development among Philippine IPs This article is about my thoughts and views towards the effects of development and development interventions among the IPs. My intention in writing this is just to express my thoughts and ideas. The Philippine indigenous people during the colonial period and contemporary era experienced the same problems about development and development interventions. During the colonial period, native Filipinos are suffered in force labor, where they experienced abuses like, didn’t get the exact salary, excessive working time, and physical abuses, while in the present days where indigenous people were forced to work in companies that are developing their lands to support their families as their livelihood was affected by the said development. Another problem that exists in both periods is displacement. Indigenous people are displaced because their ancestral domain is a subject for development as we all know that their land is rich in natural resources and a good spot for the tourism industry. During colonization, colonizers grab their land to develop and build structures, which is some native Filipinos leave and move to the mountain because of fear and to avoid contact with the colonizers. In addition to some factors why indigenous people are displaced in present days is because of arm conflict, discrimination, and loss of livelihood and habitat. Lastly, indigenous people continue suffering poverty from past until present days. The indigenous people pay more than the required amount and pay different taxes during Spanish colonization, while during American colonization, the native Filipinos pay tax for public works, where is, this development is not meant for the Philippines economic growth. And now in present days, where most developments affected indigenous people livelihood and habitat, which brought them to excessive poverty. These problems that indigenous people continue experiencing through time is because people are lack of information and understanding about the indigenous people’s condition. Even there is already laws and rights that protect IPs, still there is a violation in it. The government should strengthen its laws and rights of indigenous people and they will give the right benefits for them just like what the dominant people received. Indigenous people should know their rights so that they can stand their own, just like what is said in the article by Aguirre on page 67 that indigenous people should have unity to fight their rights. Just like the Banao who successfully fight their rights from mining and logging companies who have intentions to use their land and resources. Development is good, especially it helps to facilitate the basic needs of humans and help overcome poverty. And indigenous people is not an exception to this development. It’s just that indigenous people affected it more on negative effect because of mishandled by the government and non-government sectors. Their should be cooperation, collaborations and understanding towards each other to achieve the development and growth they aimed.

My Parents experiences during migration Hello everyone! It is my first time writing an article here in read cash and I'm excited about this platform for me to express my thought and ideas. My sister is the one who introduced this platform to me, and at first, I was hesitant to try it. Since we are in this situation, where they called new normal where the things that we used to do were different from now. So, I challenge myself to try it, because there is no harm in trying. So here I am publishing my first ever article here in read cash. This article will tackle my parents' experiences where they were migrating to different places. In Brgy. Lintaon we’re they settled after marriage, my father was having difficulty in every day going to his work which is very far from their place, so they decided to transfer to Sitio Laotin where my father’s parents live and his work is near. But my mother wasn’t happy at all when they transferred there because few people only living there, so they go back again in her place. But because it was a time of many rebellious groups who against the government they were forced to evacuate including all the people in the barangay for a while and let the tension down before they go back again to Lintaon. And then, they transferred to Sitio Patag because my mother's father lends his land to my father. Their stay in Sitio Patag is fine and productive. But in 2013 when the Yolanda hit, their house was almost destroyed as it was made of light materials, and their coconut trees were damaged. So their eldest daughter planned to provide a house for them and they choose barangay Jaena so that they will be near to the school and transportation to the city so they don’t need to walk a minute or an hour when going to the barrio where there is access to transportation, and when going to school. In their current place where they settled there are still challenges that they encounter, first is the source of water. Unlike in Patag we’re they are near the river where they have unlimited access to it, now it’s very challenging for them especially during summer where the water flow is weak. Another challenges is they don’t have enough space to plant backyard plants for their daily consumption. For me, it is important to know and be knowledgeable of the place that you are going to settle for you to be able to easily adjust and of course to survive. So, thank you and I hope you enjoy reading 😊
