Clitoria Ternatea or Butterfly Pea - The flower of butterfly pea is quite remarkable to enjoy its bright blue or violet hue with delicate petals. This plant is growing naturally around my property. So much more of them that sometimes I need to cut and clearing it. Butterfly Pea plant is a vine creeping plant and a great nitrogen fixing crop to the soil. I myself enjoy the butterfly pea flower in a form of naturally food or drink coloring and eat its fresh flower with salad or any other dishes as a veggie. The petals of butterfly pea flower has no scent or flavor. So it is a perfect for food coloring agent. Just squeeze the dried or fresh flower of butterfly pea with water, filter it then you are ready for natural blue coloring agent to add in your food or drink.
