Pumpkin Blossom - There was a rain since early morning and it seems that the rain takes a lunch break by stop pouring for some hours. I could not enjoy my work around my property for today but only enjoy plants and trees at my backyard garden. There are plenty of bright yellow pumpkin flowers especially where I directed them to creep upward on the vine supporting pole. Some of my pumpkins are in a blossom form but not full bloom. Pumpkin is flowering plant that bearing fruit and produces both male and female flower. I understand that the male flower will appear first and later female flower. It is the beautiful art of nature for its natural pollination with a help of bees and insects. I only got male flowers in some seasons but I don't mind as I can pick those male pumpkin blossom for cooking. I love to boiled pumpkin flower and eat it with dipping sauce or deep fried it. The taste of pumpkin flower is lightly sweet with slightly earthy flavor.
