For me, banana is staple fruits to enjoy for my daily consumption. I planted various kind of bananas around my home including cavendish banana, red banana, local cultivated banana, lady finger or pisang mas banana and etc. I started with banana tissue culture for availability of disease-free seedlings. After bearing fruits and fruits being cut, the banana trunk will be cut down to regrow. But the problem that I am facing is mutation or crossbreeding. I planted red banana nearby lady finger banana. By nature of pollination, my red banana fruit became crossbreeding or mutation with taste of lady finger banana but double in size as a red banana but not reddish color when ripe. Apart of eating banana fruits, banana tree is great for windbreaking and wind screen, protect my home from the sun shade on the west side, banana trunk can be made into different products like a basket or mattress and etc. I myself used banana leaf for wrapping in cooking and etc. Banana trunk is being used as a compost or cut and cover soil surface to maintain moisture of any trees or plants in the garden. Since yesterday that I spent time cleaning the banana garden by cutting old banana trunk, wrapped the unripe banana to avoid any devour from insects and animal. This is my labor of love to my garden. #MyGarden
