3 facts about money. **Money:** `According to my understanding is a generally accepted valuable thing that is used as a mode of payment for goods and services.` We all know that money is used in our day-to-day activities to pay for goods and services rendered, without further ado let me get straight to the point of the write-up. I'd be Sharing 3 facts about money from my knowledge, hoping you learn a thing or two from it. If you can't manage a dollar, how would you be able to manage $50k?. If you can't stop amassing for more money always after little wins, you'd lose it all. If you can't deprive yourself of certain things, you won't be able to plan how to make use of your money. Let me take them one after the other for easy understanding. **If you can't manage a dollar, how would you be able to manage $50k?**. I want you to think about this question and share your thoughts if you want to, Id wants to hear your thoughts on this. Managing the little money you have now would determine if you would be able to handle bigger money when you get it, most people fail in managing the money they have now which might be little, you can't expect someone who spends any little money that comes his/her way to be able to manage a large amount of money wisely it's not possible. We need to learn managing money at the early stage when we have little so that when we have more we can be able to manage it and make plans with it. **If you can't stop amassing for more money always after little wins, you'd lose it all.** We all know that everything in life is about risk but mostly we shouldn't put in all we've got and call that risk Nah that's not risk, risk should be mitigated so that when we make a loss it won't hurt as much. People are bound to amass more money but we should try to bring it down a bit, take for instance you were given two options to choose from a rolling dice if it stays at double (6) then you win yourself $50k and luckily for you, it clocked the double (6) and you won yourself the $50k but one thing there is the greed to have more which would make you want to try another luck and you know the saying that opportunities might come once and never happen though most times it comes more than once it is always with us. We just need to stop amassing for more money after small wins so we won't end up losing all due to greed. **If you can't deprive yourself of certain things, you won't be able to plan how to make use of your money**. If you want to manage and be rich one thing you need to do is to deprive yourself of certain things like hanging out with friends which would make you spend money and not add up your portfolio so that's one thing we need to deprive ourselves of hanging out on unnecessary occasions. We shouldn't be pressured by what our friends are wearing (clothes shoes e.t.c) this thing would just make you spend money to impress others and feel among the crowd whereas deep down you know you just did it to feel among your peers which aren't right we need to deprive ourselves of peer pressure. In conclusion, Learn how to manage the little money you have so you would be able to manage a big amount when you finally get it, that's the key to success. Words of the wise. **We learn every day as we keep going in life, learning is a never-ending thing, one might be through with schooling in the university and come out with a master's degree but learning never stops there it continues.** Learn from those who have been where you are today as they have a perfect knowledge of how what happened and if they made mistakes then they would be ready to share their mistakes with you so it's left to you to learn from their mistakes so you won't make such mistakes on your journey. When you come across elderly people that have been in your position before they tend to tell you about their past experiences and how they overcame them and if they made mistakes they wouldn't want you to do such if they want the best for you, without any further ado let me talk on some words of the wise. **Save while others are spending.** This is the first word I learned from the wise, saving while others are spending is a good thing to do, we don't need to copy what others are doing rather we should do things our way. You can't compare someone earning less than $100 a month to someone earning $1,000 a month their spending would be different and so also their saving habit would be different though most times the person earning $100 a month might save more than the other person if he/she minimise he's or her spending habit and don't compare themselves with others. **Don't tell others about your plans.** Work on your plans alone and don't tell others about your plans that's how to live life right, solve your plans alone as we know people hate progress and would do whatever it takes for those plans not to come in place so the best thing to do is to work on your plans alone. Let others see your achievement but don't tell them the struggles you had, the sleepless nights and the days of hunger, let them see your achievement and find out how you arrive at that. **Schedule your time.** Productively plan your time and do things at the right time, you can make a timetable to list out things that you want to do and make sure you stick to the timetable so you won't waste time as time waits for no one we run after time and work on time so we need to be careful not to play with our time. Time is valuable in everyone's life so let's make the most out of the time we have, it's best to schedule your time to make productive things come first and just leave a little time behind for playing or doing less important things. **Think positively always.** Don't let your mind wander about the bad things that once happen to you in life, try to think positively that everything would be fine soon no matter what you're going through all your sorrow would end someday, all you need to do is to be positive. Be positive in whatever you do and always put in your best while expecting the results of your hard work that's how to live life right. **Lower your expectations.** It's best to hope for the best to come forth when you put in your very best in things but the thing is what if it doesn't work out the way we expected it to be? Would we be sad just because we didn't get what we hoped for?. Now the thing is don't put too much hope on things as they might fail us, the best thing to do is to lower your expectations so you won't feel sad when things don't work out the way we thought they would. It's ok to expect the best things to come forth but lower your expectations as things might not work out well which would be painful to us so what we need to do is keep your hopes down a bit and if it works out well be happy with it and if not still be happy. **The end** **Cover photo: designed using** **canva** https://www.canva.com/design/DAFCh5q0pTI/Vb8-d9w1KAWVKEs7ODWrRw/view?utm_content=DAFCh5q0pTI&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton Thanks for reading🥰💚👌.
Self-sabotage. **What do you understand by Self-sabotage?** Many of us might have not come across this word as it is rarely used by people, what comes to your mind when you hear the word self-sabotage? When I first heard the word self-sabotage I was curious to know what it is as it was my first time hearing that word so I had to make a research what the word means here's what I found; **Self-sabotage can be defined in simple terms as physically, emotionally, and mentally hindering your progress by your actions and behaviours.** Every wrong action you take today makes you self-sabotage yourself, for example, you intentionally pour water on the fall and later on you slip and fall on the ground that's self-sabotage as we did the wrong before by pouring water on the ground and later on you slipped and fall due to your actions of the past. We self-sabotage ourselves when we; Trying to be perfect. Compare ourselves to others. Lack self-worth. Giving without receiving anything in return. Saving and re-reading messages that hurt us. ****Trying to be perfect.**** Nobody is perfect they say, scientists make mistakes and so everyone is bound to make mistakes though we strive to be perfect it can't happen as humans are bound to make mistakes to learn from them so they can know the areas they are making mistakes so trying to be perfect makes us sabotage ourselves. The more we try to be perfect the more mistakes we make and those are lessons for us to learn from so on our next trial we'll know what to do so we won't fall into such mistakes, sabotaging yourself to be perfect won't work out as even those successful people we see made mistakes which they learned from and continued striving. One thing we should note is mistakes are part of the process but learning from those mistakes to be better is a road to attaining perfection. Perfection isn't supposed to be a struggle but a realisation and state of mind. **"As we try to be perfect, we are bound to make mistakes"** ****Compare ourselves to others.**** **Image source.** https://pixabay.com/illustrations/balance-swing-equality-measurement-2108024/ Comparison can affect us both positively and negatively, lets's take a look at both of them for a better understanding of how it can affect us in those ways I've listed above. *Positively*. Comparison motivates us to be like others which makes us strive harder and harder so it is helpful in terms of motivating ourselves to be like others, comparison cheers us up in one way or the other in a positive way and can also be a guide to make us focus in life, let's look at the negative side of the comparison. *Negatively*. Comparison can be damaging and harmful to us in a negative way which would make us look down on ourselves and become jealous of others' success which leads to self-sabotage. Comparison can be helpful both positively and negatively but one thing you should note is that we should disengage from comparison as it might motivate you at the very beginning but also make you look down on yourself and think that you're not good enough and others are better than you. As comparison can be a motivation to one it can also make you feel you haven't achieved anything in life and thereby hurting yourself to be like others, we should stop comparison so we won't feel down on ourselves. ****Lack self-worth**** When we lack self-worth we tend to sabotage ourselves and lose confidence in whatever we are doing, when you are not confident in whatever you are doing you would lose your self worth and would also do things which would hinder us from bringing out our full capability. We need to build up our self-worth and be confident in whatever we are doing even if it doesn't work out the way we want it but at least should try to be confident in whatever we are doing and know our worth. ****Giving without receiving anything in return.**** Giving also makes us sabotage ourselves when we give things out in expectation of receiving something in return but it turns out we didn't receive anything, this hinders our progress if we hold on to giving in expectation of receiving something. Giving goes both ways but one thing we need to take into consideration is not giving in expectation of receiving something in return, it might not work out the way we want it to be so all we need to do is to give from our heart and expect nothing in return this would keep us going and won't allow us to sabotage ourselves. ****Saving and re-reading messages that hurt us.**** We just need to let go of most things that hurt us in the past or present as it would only hurt us more when we keep saving any message that hurts our feelings and re-reading it would make us feel sad and depressed. It's ok to let go of any painful thing that has happened to us instead of saving it to re-read which would harm our feelings when we take a look at it, we just need to let go of past feelings and things that happen and focus on the future. ***Cover photo; designed using*** ***canva*** https://www.canva.com/design/DAFCSx3W5DY/b3GCacDsQ0fBGaeJXqRyBg/view?utm_content=DAFCSx3W5DY&utm_campaign=designshare&utm_medium=link2&utm_source=sharebutton **Thanks for reading 🥰💚👌.**
