For all those who are wondering how the promotional algorythm worked I cannot be 100% sure as I have nothing to do with it, but I can give you a simple explanation. As you clicked on a post they created an address for the recipient (and content ID) and connected it to your account (database record). Then they periodically monitor the recieving address to detect a transaction. As the transaction was detected they tipped the account that created the fatabase record and marked it as 'done.'
