I don't like the upbeat "be positive", "be optimistic", "smile" motos. By expecting the best I'm only sad, when things go "wrong". Situations only rarely play out by the best possible scenario. I always prepare for the worst and hope for the best. The outcome is usually somwhere in between the extremes and that puts it in the "at least satisfactory - as expected" category.
