Oh man, is that a cigarette between your fingers? Coffee is bad enough, but cigarettes are down right harmful. Please kick that habit!
Naaaawh, you have to die of something! It is a bad habit, I agree. But ... yeah, you know.
Yeah, I know. Fear of death sometimes causes such irrational behaviors. Consider how insane the world went over Covid19. My Great-Grandfather smoked until the day he died, saying they can pry the cigarette from his dead fingers. He lived to be 92 or so.
But I must agree, that kicking the habit would not hurt, hehe. Sorry, got to run. Have some java and plsql to read ...
Yeah, try to cut back if you can. I never learned any computer languages beyond COBOL and PL1. My PL1 programs looked like they were translated from COBOL!
COBOL - the language of the anchients. It's almost as if you'd speak fluent Latin at this point, hehe. I hope you like the joke. 😁 I myself started with BASIC/Pascal. 🖖
I never used BASIC outside of school, and never learned Pascal. Yeah, knowing COBOL kept me employed for a few years longer, because none of the "kids" wanted to learn it. The problem was the jobs were all maintaining ancient, very brittle, extremely poorly written convoluted code. Yuck!
I was asked to look at some Turbo Pascal accounting software a few years back. LoL Some just stay and hang on to what works and some time in the future get left in a vacuum.
There's a balance to be reached somewhere between "you need to stay current" and "if it ain't broke don't fix it". Unfortunately I don't think anyone has ever found it.
I don't even beleve it's there. That fine line, lol
