People are so quick to attach one's success to luck or privilege. Once they don't see you publicly showing off the effort you put into an endeavour they believe the success isn't based on merit. Working behind the scenes, silently working hard and not showing off is a Taboo to them. You must always publicise your effort

Oops! I think the last sentence/statement is misleading. I meant "To people, working hard silently is a taboo, you must always show off your effort". I didn't mean one should publicise his effort. I'm just talking about what the society expects.
We should not position ourselves according to society's expectations
Lol People are just being partial. It’s crazy when they see someone who is working extremely hard to get there but they’d still make it look like the person was just being lucky and didn’t put any work into it
