Bamboo Shoots Sunday is market day in our town. When I say market day, it is the official day that our town market is open and vendors from rural and nearby towns are there to sell their products or crops that the farmers harvested. It is also a day for mothers to buy vegetables, fruits and other wet market products with a cheaper price than the grocery stores or during weekdays. As you can see in the picture ( it was not mine, credit to my fb friend), a woman sells sliced bamboo shoots ready to cook. It has different slices, according to menu dish preference. The round slice is for "ginataan" ( coconut milk) the Flat slice is best for "nilagang karne" (Soup) and the rectangular or the Julienne cut(culinary term) is for pickled bamboo shoots. Province life is a fresh life😊 who can relate?
