The first person call is mom. When I don't understand the insurance bill. When someone says something mean to me. When I need advice on how to care for my kiddos. When need someone to tell me it's going to be okay. When I have a question about literally anything. When my heart is heavy. When I need directions on how to make food. When I need to hear the hard truth. When I'm bored. When I'm anything, really. The first person I call is mom. To see what she thinks, to hear what she would do, or to just get comforted by the voice of the one who has always been there. She may not have all the answers, but sometimes I don't need the answers. Sometimes I just need my mom. So I call. I hope my kids will do the same with me.
