Harmattan season here. Happy day and happy new week Readers; it the second week day and I feel good about it. The days are set and I am set too. Just that I am starting the week with a class test and bunch is assignments to submit. This is really mean because all my Sunday and past weekend was timing busy o'clock.... `Check out my sponsors of all time` This week as we all wish, is going to be a good start for our goals already set. The execution of ll plans made the past week has already began and I wish everyone a happy week all through. Here in my country, we are still in the harmattan season. The wind is blowing dust and everywhere is cold and dry.
I went jogging on the streets but to my amazement; my entire body despite being warm couldn't produce sweat. The more I try to get warm, the more the harmattan dries me up. The feeling was like it entering into my pores and sucks the water in my body, leaving me cold outside but warm inside. What a weird weather. For all the distances covered by me while jogging, no sweat was produced. Seemed like my sweat glands were afraid of the weather or that my body needed to reserve some water for myself. I can't really tell. It was all like an illusion to me.😂 This weather has a great effect on the trees, shrubs and grasses. It dries off water from them leaving them with Brown and dried stems and leaves coated with dust. It not really a good idea to walk into the bushy area because you would come out dusty.
Harmattan happens to be my best weather because of the cool weather it comes with. More also, it a season of harvest and there is always abundance of food to eat. Leaves, fruits and vegetables and fully available in the market. It provides me with lots of natural food to eat. In the same way, there are things about harmattan that I do not like to experience. It is always likely to happen and that's one of its features and that is the dusty wind. This reminds me of when I got back to school early this month, how my room was so dusty. The window panes were turned to another color àll by the effect of dusty wind blew by the harmattan. During this harmattan season, the body needs to be moisturized because it loses a lot of water. This is the time for consuming lots and lots of water. Even without doing nothing, it is possible to take litres of water everyday. Water consumption is always at its peak during this season. As a kid those days, we move in groups playing in the wind of harmattan. when we walk pass you, you could see the white lines all over our body. These lines are as a result of dry weather and shows mostly on the legs because the leg is not always covered by clothes. Even now as an adult, it a bit difficult to have a bath in this cold weather. Ever since the beginning of this season, I have been bathing with hot water. Same thing with all of my friends and parents. People are as well prone to headache as it is always common during this period of time. This time around, water doesn't really need to be kept in freezers before getting cold. Just get some water and put it in a cool place and check back in few minutes time, all you would find out is a cold water already.
Harmattan happens to be my best weather of all time because of its cold nature and abundance of foods (seeds, fruits and vegetables) my only disadvantage of harmattan is the dry and dusty wind. thanks for reading and have a cool day today. `Image credit: all images from unsplash.com` COPYRIGHT@ GIANNA-B, 2022 AND ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
