My name is Jumana, and I’m from Gaza. I’m not a writer, but sometimes writing is the only way I can breathe. Everything around us is broken, but deep inside, something keeps telling me: speak, write, don’t stay silent. People see numbers on the news. But they don’t see what we live — the small details that hurt the most. The silence after an explosion. A child sleeping on the ground. A mother holding what’s left of her son’s clothes. I’ve seen pain in people’s eyes, and I’ve seen strength too. And even with all of this… I still have hope. I don’t even know how. But I do. Maybe it’s because I believe God is with us. Maybe it’s because I believe there are still kind people out there — people who care, even from far away. I’m not writing this for sympathy. I’m writing because we’re human. We feel, we cry, we love, and we want to live.
