Unlike the low-creeping European species of blueberry, which grows in the Swedish forests, the American blueberry is a deciduous shrub that can grow up to 4 meters tall and often grows in dense thickets. The pulp of the berry is light green in contrast to the red-violet pulp of the European berry. We have one bush that gets berries every year and it can withstand the cold Swedish winter.
